Cindy's POV
"Wow!This is great Rosaley!" My mother said as she ate her pasta.
Everyone else nodded in agreement. "Where'd you learn to cook so well,Miss.Adams?" Alice asked Ana's mother.
She chuckled. "Books.Articles. You know,surfing the internet."
"You know,A beautiful Australian Shepherd came into the shop earlier with some new people in town. Maybe you girls can make friends, since they are dog people." Ana spoke up.
"Australian Shepherd? That would be Scarlett. Her owners are Mr. And Mrs.Autumns. They're not so friendly.." I said,"In fact, Mr.Autumns is the one who kicked Anila!"
Ana stared at me,shocked. "They seemed like friendly people!Wow.. That's unbelievable. Good thing Anila is alright."
I nodded, finishing up my pasta.
"Thank you for the food. Can Alice and I go play outside with the dogs?"
The adults nodded. "Thanks!" Alice exclaimed. The dogs were already outside and we ran to meet them.
Belle's POV
I barked at Rocky as he pounced on me in a playful mode. I rolled over on my side and saw all the dogs outside.
Lilly and Mady lay side by side in the shade, Nile and Anila were chewing on a bone, and Rocky had just ran to Max who was sniffing a tree.
My head raised when I saw Cindy and Alice walk out, and I stood up and padded to them.
Soon all the dogs were around me as well,sniffing the girls,hoping for food.
Cindy's POV
I laughed softly and took out the bag of treats, Ana had handed me before I left.
One by one,Alice helped my hand a treat to all seven dogs and each headed to their small areas, like under a tree or in a corner.
"Hm,Rocky's grown a lot." I said smiling as Alice and I sat on the porch steps.
She nodded,looking towards Rocky who had quickly finished his treat and was bothering Lily for hers.
"I feel bad for Scarlett. I mean she doesn't have a chance to socialize with other dogs." She said after a minute of silence.
"I know. Me too. Do you think theres anything we could do about it?"
She shook her head. ''You saw what they did to Anila. He won't hesitate to probably hurt another of our dogs."
"True. We could maybe talk to Mrs.Autumns. I heard her say something to Mr.Autumns.. She actually seemed to care about Scarlett."
"Oh.. Of what we had heard earlier.."
I nodded. I looked up seeing the sun begin to set. I heard the door open and Jenna say,"Ana said to being the dogs in since its getting cold."
Alice and I nodded getting up and calling the dogs inside.
Belle's POV
We were rounded up in Ana's living room. And I lay down under Cindy's mother and father,as they sat on the couch talking to everyone else.
I yawned tiredly. Rocky lay on Ana's lap, or tried to, he was getting bigger.
I thought about how lucky us dogs were to be in a with kind families and finally rescued from being to hell and back.
Cindy's POV
Alice and I were in one of Ana's guest rooms, with Jenna,bored.
"I feel bad for that dog that lives with Mr.Autumns. We should help it Cindy." Jenna said randomly.
"Well... We're scared he'd hurt another of our dogs."Alice said.
"Yeah. I mean he hurt Anila. And he lives next door. He can do something when we're gone." I said grimly.
"Aww. C'mon. We stopped a puppy mill! We can do this. I mean its just one dog." Jenna encouraged.
"You know.. She has a point.." Alice said thoughtfully.
'Hmm..I think we can. We'd just have to be careful with Mr.Autumns"
They both grinned and we planned what we could possibly do to help Scarlett.
