Delilah
My mother should've swallowed me.
I sat at the Ravenclaw table, legs crossed at the ankles, eyeing my uniform which was perfectly pressed, not a wrinkle seen in the blue, black, and bronze material. I felt my body strain completely straight, almost uncomfortably formal and proper.
I raise my eyes to watch the students stalking in for my seventh, and last year at the school of wizardry, just the thought making me resist the urge to roll my eyes.
It didn't take long for me to be put in a pissy mood; already missing Remus, missing dinner with him and Reg, but I would never let it show.
No matter how much I wanted to.
I didn't have much longer at the school, I couldn't have been happier for the year to be over, and it had only just begun.
In my defense, I tried not to make habit of hating it at Hogwarts, but something about the place brought out something bitter in me.
Perhaps it was the people, or the professors, or the fake message.
"Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it."
Bullshit.
Next to me was a girl who was one year my junior, Luna Lovegood, she smiled softly while reading a book. That was one thing about being a Ravenclaw, they were the introverts of the school, so they preferred things to be mellow and low-key.
It annoyed me sometimes, it made the stereotypes of the Ravenclaw house seem true.
To be fair it wasn't far off, and I certainly wasn't helping to break the mold.
We were most certainly the calmest of all the houses, we arguably held the best marks, but Ravenclaws had a bad side.
They could be just as bad as Slytherin in my opinion.
We were smart, quiet, and most importantly.
Neglected.
It was easy to get away with things when you had no one watching, or caring.
I knew well what power that held.
Where my black pleated skirt and stockings didn't cover my thighs, goosebumps arose at the sound of the Great Hall's doors opening, then flowing shut.
It was no secret that a new student was attending Hogwarts.
Most people would not seem to care about something that insignificant, but over the years as the war worsened, there were more people transferring out of Hogwarts rather than in.
The reality of it was that most people didn't know how bad the war had already gotten.
People going missing, bodies found, and homes destroyed. The Death Eaters were getting sloppier, or perhaps, they stopped caring. But if this was anything like the first war, this was only the beginning.
