I was a little shocked that God wanted to speak with me. I knew he'd speak with Damon but me? Why? I just followed Jefferson out to the same hallway I walked through nine years ago. He led us down the hallway and turned into a door. We walked through and I was in awe. It was beautiful. The walls were white and were so tall I couldn't see the ceiling, maybe there wasn't one. There was a giant chair that went just as high. It was more like a throne. There seemed to be a lot of light I just can't figure out where it was coming from. I looked in the chair and there was a man sitting there smiling at us as we walk in.
"Is this the angel and the teenage girl?" He asked. Jefferson nodded and smiled.
"Yes, sir. This is. Just as you asked." He answered. God nodded and stepped down from his chair. He took my hands and smiled.
"Young girl, What is your name?" He asks.
"Emmalynn. Emmalynn Everett." I answered. He nods and stares at me.
"Yes, Emmalynn. Very pretty name. I like it very much." He said.
"Thank you, sir."
"How did your parents pick?" He asked.
"Well, my mom always told me that she loved the names Emma and Lynn and she already picked Rose for my middle name. She couldn't choose which one she liked more so she just combined them." I said smiling at the memory of my mother. I missed her so much.
"Ah, very smart. Emmalynn Rose, I like it." He said. I laughed a little. He then turned to face Damon, his smile suddenly vanished and he looked very serious.
"You, boy, what's your name?"
"Damon, sir. Damon Jones."
"And you just took this girl's life? Just like that? Before I said it was her time to go?" He asked. Damon didn't look at me, nor at God. He just looked a head of himself. I just looked at Damon as his head fell in shame.
"Yes, I uh, I did. I'm truly sorry."
"Mr. Jones, Sorry doesn't give her her life back. You have taken everything from her and her loved ones. What was going through your head?" He asked. Damon took a deep breath.
"I'm in love with her sir. I have been for a long time now and I couldn't stand to spend another day without her." Damon answered. God then sent me out so he could speak with Damon alone without any distraction. I waited patiently with Jefferson outside the door. I tried to smile when Jefferson smiled at me but I just didn't have it in me.
"Hey, cheer up. Just a little. Please?" He said softly.
"I...can't. I just keep thinking about what he did. He ruined everything. And it's not even me that I'm upset about. It's my family. He ruined everything for my family. And for what? Because He's in love with me. This is unreal." I explained. Jefferson just smiled at me. I looked at him and waited for him to say something but he didn't he just looked at me.
Suddenly, the door opened and that man, Louis came out. He just looked at me and said he was sent to get Andy. I was confused. What did any of this have to do with Andy? I didn't understand. He walked away and we were asked to come back in. Jefferson motioned for me to go first and I thanked him. I saw Damon standing to the side, just staring at nothing. I didn't pay anymore attention to him. I just looked at God and waited for him to say something.
"Alright, Emmalynn, we are going on a trip." He said. I was a little confused. Where were we going? He just took my hand and closed his eyes. All the sudden, we were in my mom's house.
"Mom, I don't care. I'm not throwing it away. It was Lynn's!" I heard Scarlett yell.
"Scarlett, it's old and torn and dirty. Why do you honestly want to keep it?" Mom asked her. I looked in Scarlett's arms and there was Monny. Mom wanted to throw my favorite stuff animal away. No! She can't.
