Chapter 2

After 5 mins of the 30 min drive to the airport I took may's sugestion and interrogate my ma.

" so mama who are we living with?" I said knowing I was probly gonna get a ear full.

She sighs "Bri I told you this already," I was surprised she must be really tired. I felt bad "you going to live with a close friend of mine. Don't you remember we went to their house when you guy we super lil."

"Nope" I say popin the "p"

"Remember she had a lil boy around your age. You probly don't remember you were only 5."

"Yeah" I say as my voice faded

The thing is I do remember him. I know exactly who he was.

"So ma when you coming back" Quintin said taking the words out of my mouth.

"Umm, a year or two..I-" she got cut off because me and Quin both yelled what

"Y'all I was just kiddin." She reassured. A sigh formed in my mouth but never came because she continued "just a year and a half"

My mouth dropped. I can't do it. I didn't want to move even though the only reason staying is for my best friend. I'm not well liked in school. Not after what happened.

I haven't been the same since. I have really bad panic attack. I'm not good at meeting new people. I get embarrassed easily.

My stomach turned into knots thinking about it. I started to bite my bottom lip. My palms got sweaty. My breathing quickened.

"Bri ," Quin said reaching to touch my shoulder. "Deep breaths ok? Stop worrying so much. Calm down."

I nodded as my breath leveled out. I wanted to stop thing about this whole thing. I just popped my ear buds in and drifted to sleep. Hoping by the time I woke up I would still be in my bed in Washington, D.C.
