Sanyukta was standing near the window and watching the moon. She was thinking about the miseries of her life that never ends. She heard the door unlocked and turns to see her three hours old husband enters the room with his daughter Zoey. She was just two months old.
"Sanyukta, come here." He said as he locked the door and she walked to him.
"Is she slept?" She asked looking down in his arms.
"No. I'm not good at singing. Can you put her to sleep?" He asked thus she widened her eyes.
"Me but how?" She asked shockingly.
"I know you can do it. Hold her." He said forwarding her but she moved back.
"I... I can't. I... I can't. I d.. I don't ww.. want to hu.. hurt her." She said in a cracked voice and he come closer to her.
"You won't hurt her. Trust me." He said feeling her pain.
"How can you trust me? I may be hurt your daughter." She said shedding tears.
"Zoey is not only my daughter. She is yours too. She is our daughter. And you're a perfect mother to our baby." He said giving her and she held her carefully.
She sat on the bed and adored his... their baby. She was so beautiful. Those tiny feathers of her and her beautiful blue eyes. Sanyu kissed her forehead and her tiny palm.
"She is your mamma, princess. Don't trouble her." He said caressing her hair and she wriggles her legs in the air.
"Thank you, Randhir. Thank you for giving me a new life." She cried looking at him and he wiped her tears.
"You know Zoey means life. So she gave us a new life." He said kissing her forehead and embracing her.
She leans her head on his shoulder and rocked Zoey in her arms until she fell asleep. She stood up and put her in the crib while he turns on the baby monitor. They kissed her forehead and stood there adoring her.
"I think we need to sleep," Sanyu said looking at him.
He nodded his head and went into the closet followed by her. He grabbed his trousers and went into the bathroom while she changed her red saree and wore her nightdress. After changing they both lay on the bed showing back to each other but sleep was far away from their eyes. Sanyu had many questions running in her mind regarding their marriage. Their marriage was nothing but a mere contract that they did for Zoey. There is no love in this relationship but could she expect loyalty from him? Because she knew he was a man with needs and she won't like the idea of her husband going to another woman to fulfill his needs. Love or no love; but this marriage means a lot to her.
"Can't sleep?" She heard him ask.
She turns toward him and faced him while he was already facing her.
"Can I expect loyalty from this marriage?" She asked hesitantly and he held her hand.
"Sanyukta, I know what you're thinking about me? Of course, I'm a man with needs but that doesn't mean I'll go to other women and cheat on my wife. Love or no love but this marriage is our holy thread. Before you, I had sex with only one woman and that is Zoey's biological mother. And I won't ever betray you. I'll be always loyal to you." He said caressing her cheek and she sheds some more tears.
"Thank you so much, Randhir." She said kissing his palm.
"Sanyukta, it doesn't mean that I expect nothing from you. I'll be very honest. You're the mother of my child and my wife. We're going to spend our entire life together. I want to have a physical relationship with you when you get fully ready. I promise I won't touch you without your permission." He said looking into her eyes.
