It's been 3 years since I last left Thailand to go pursue my dreams. To be honest, though I enjoyed it immensely, leaving Leon behind was a painful part of my life.
I really wondered how he has been doing. He tried emailing me and I kept up with it for the first 6 months but eventually I stopped as work got to me, the lack of technology helped and emailing him will not help him to move on.Couldn't tie him to me forever, could I? But I couldn't say our last email ended on a good note so I was abit apprehensive on how it would be if I was to go see him.
I never know unless I tried, which is why, 3 years later i was on a plane back to Thailand. Eager to see family, friends and most importantly Leon.
I didn't tell him of my arrival wanting to surprise him. I landed in Bangkok, completed the necessary paperwork and was exiting the arrival hall when I saw a familiar figure. He was still dressed as suave as ever. Realising it was Leon, I wanted to go up and surprise him so I made my way over.
Just as I was about to call out to him, someone beat me to it. "Leon!" A female voice cried out from behind me.
Leon turned to see me and more importantly the voice behind me. His eyes widened in surprise when he saw me but it deflected when he saw the person behind me. I turned too, and there was this girl dressed in a beautiful blue pant suit with her hair tied up in a ponytail and a nice pair of heels. She looked well put together, flaunted the right amount of jewellery; most importantly I caught a wedding ring on her ring finger and she was making her way to Leon.
I just looked as she kissed Leon and greeted him merrily. Leon also greeted her and kissed her back. However he excused himself to come over to me.
"Pob, when did you come back? Are you here for good?" He was very excited and happy to see me and I had to admit, his infectious joy was rubbing off on me. I smiled and replied softly" "I am here for good. I decided to come back as I had finished my contract and also I wanted to see you too."
Leon's smile widened at that and he was about to reply until the girl interrupted him again. Then I saw the same look overtake Leon, his eyes dimmed. Leon cleared his throat and introduced his companion, "Pob, this is my wife Leena. We have been married for a year now."
To say I was stunned was probably the understatement of the year.
Married, Leon?!
