When I Met You

Chapter 9

Well my day honestly couldn't get better. Its been Nothing but good news all day. Like my mom cutting down on drinking. Ha.. Yeah right. I'll believe that when I see it. But I do wish her luck. Then there's my new friends, Josh and Meagan. I mean, Meagan is pretty quiet but I'll change that. And Josh, He's hilarious and has some great ideas. He's also one of the smartest people I know. And Chad actually does care about me. He's not like the people from Loda. Loda is where I used to live. Boring little town really. But back to Chad. He's actually sweet. And does care what happens to me. And maybe things are looking up. But I don't think I should have instantly jumped into a relationship. But I guess we will see how things go. And now, I'm walking around the trailer park with my ear buds in, a lime green kool-aid shirt on, and some shorts. Just walking and thinking. That's one thing I love about this town, it's so small, you can't really get lost.
"BAH!"
I hear behind me then feel fingers poke into my sides.
I pull my headphones out then turn around to see Josh standing there smiling.

"Well hello. You know you could've just said hi and put your hand on my shoulder or something instead of tickling the crap out of me and scaring the shit out of me right?" I said while laughing but being serious.

"Well yeah, but that wouldn't have been Fun."

"True, true." I say while chuckling.

We walk together around the trailer park just talking and getting to know each other and I get to thinking about Chad and when he was going to text and when he wanted to hang out. Jerica was in the house, she didn't want to come outside with me. So I just kinda left.

"Cassidy?"

"Oh yeah." I say while shaking my head and smiling because I had No idea what he just said because I was in my own thoughts.

"Did you hear me?"

"No.. I'm sorry, repeat what you just said."

"I said have you heard from Chad?"

"Nope. He hasn't texted me today. But today's been pretty good since he hasn't texted me. I know, sounds horrible but it's so true."

(Starts laughing historically)

"Ahhh. But I have to go home, mom's calling me." Josh says and stands up.

"Want me to walk you home?"

"Yeah sure."

I walk Josh home and go back to Jerica's and take a bath. Just to make the day better. Getting good news, new friends, and knowing Chad actually cares about me, and....
(DRUM ROLL)
A BATH!
To me, that's a perfect day. Well so far anyways. I hope it keeps going like this but I doubt it.

*BZZZ BZZZ BZZZ*

My phone vibrating and of course, it's a text from Chad.

"When do you want to hang out today?"

"Whenever's cool, I'm in the bath right now though so I'd wait a little bit. Lol." I text back with a smirk.

"Ha... can I join (;"

What do I say to that. Honestly. What.

"Ha... maybe some other time (;" I say back feeling stupid because I had the most dumbest answer ever.

"I'll take you up on that (; but I'll be over in like an hour. " he replies back.

I get out of the bath and my fingers are all wrinkled. I look at the clock to see that Chad will be over in about 30 minutes which gives me time to do my hair and m as leave up before he gets here. So I put on some lotion, slip on my clothes, apply my eyeliner and Mascara, throw my hair up in a bun, then walk to the living room to wait for Chad to come over.

Right as I sat on the couch, Josh walked in. Jerica and I are sitting on the couch and Josh sat in the chair.

And Chad, Yeah. He never showed up.
