There was darkness.

A void.

What was once an Earth, a galaxy filled with aliens and humans, a universe,

Was now nothing.

In the middle of the endless void was a small circular shield. Sitting there while meditating was the singular living being. A human, who sacrificed everything to bring his loved one back. And yet he lost the entire universe to the void as a result.

"Strange."

The man opened his eyes. Nothing. Nothing but him.

Strange Supreme grunted. Perhaps his insanity is getting the better of him. There's no way that she...she would be here.

The memories returned to him. The warning.

"You cannot do this Strange! By removing a critical point in time, the fabrics of this universe will collapse!"

"You're lying. I will bring her back!"

"Nothing can bring her back, Strange. You must move on," the voice continued.

"There is always a choice. You do not know the lengths I will go to bring her back."

"Then I'm afraid I must stop you."

Strange remembered that gravely. Fighting against his former teacher, the Ancient One, was the doorway into the eternal damnation he is in now. After absorbing her life force, he charged the spell that destroyed the universe. That which destroyed his life.

He never felt joy. Only sorrow.

Strange stammered, "But..but how? How are you talking to me? I-I absorbed your life force!"

"So it would seem. But I am not the same one you know in this universe," she explained, "for my fate ended differently. Not by your hand, but from defending the Sancto Sanctorium from Kaecilius, a corrupted sorcerer*."

"Of course, the multiverse will meet me," the sorcerer sighed, "but...that still doesn't explain how you're here...unless-"

"Unless something terrible has happened. Through death, I have achieved a higher realm of existence**. Through the collections of my demise in every timeline I acquired their knowledge. But I have not come to talk further about myself, but to ask for your help."

"My help?"

The Ancient One waved her hands, and a magical hologram appeared, showing a familiar figure. A cloaked man with bright eyes was attacking a metal man. The sorcerer immediately recognized the first figure to be the Watcher. Initially Strange assumed the second figure to be Ironman, or Tony Stark, but upon closer examination, his hypothesis was proven wrong.
