Chapter 7: Setting Fires

Kakucho's POV

I look at my phone trying to message y/n but she didn't even reply to me last night.

I wanted to text her again but I may look seemingly desperate for her attention.

I continued wiping my hair with the towel and then walks to my closet to pick some clothes.

My phone then rings, so  I immediately run to look at it.

I was kinda disappointed when it's just a notification reminding me of my schedule for today.

'One day business trip with Izana'

It's just a trip not outside the country but it may take a while to drive.

We both have some negotiations to do and since the group is busy for the battle this coming week which is in two days.

I dressed up with layers since it's kinda getting cold here in japan, I then pick up my car keys and drove off to the HQ.

When I arrived, It was quite peaceful.
'Did Y/n have not yet arrived?' I thought.

I was walking in the hall way when I saw someone is looking from Y/n glass window. He is a haitani. Ran Haitani to be exact.

I walk towards him and tap his shoulder wanting to know why he is looking from the outside.

"What are you doing? You know you can knock to the door Haitani-san."

He looked at me and was quite startled to see me.

"Well, I already did that but no one answered." He said and then put his hands on his pockets.

I was about to ask him what does he want with Y/n but he cut off my thoughts and said "I'm here to apologize to y/n for teasing her last night at the bar, she immediately left angrily." He looked down with a sad face.

I Didn't know that one of the most feared gangster member of tenjiku is here just to apologize to a girl. Y/n sure is scary when angry.

But why is she in that bar? Could that be why I can't contact her last night?

I took a glance on Y/n office and it does seem empty but I'm curious why is she not here yet? She was never been late like this. Maybe she did have a hangover? I better go check on her.

I was about to go when Izana stopped me. "Kakucho I was waiting for you, let's go and better not waste our time."

He walk passed to me so I have no other choice but to follow him.
I better ask him about Y/n later.

We are now driving to the venue of the meeting and I am glad the traffic is not that bad.

Now that I got the chance to ask him I didn't waste any time.
"Izana do you know why is Y/n is late?"

I took a quick glance at Izana but seems he was pissed off. " Why would I know that kakucho? Forget about her and focus driving. "

A string seems to snap somewhere from me. I don't why but seems my temper is triggered.

I harshly stop the car at the side of the road. "What the hell kakucho?! Do you want us to be dead?!" He angrily shouts.

"So something happened." I calmly said.

"What are you talking about?"Izana

"What happened to you and Y/n last night?"

The silence was being more and more louder and not even a sound or word uttered.

"She confessed to me." Izana

A sudden pain stabs my heart. It is quite painful.

"She admitted to me about what she felt, that she lose on our bet."Izana muttered.

"Kakucho, I am a man not capable of knowing what love is and I have no right to love her either. " Izana said and scoff.

"I'm a pathetic human being, I'm a criminal." Izana

I couldn't say anything, Love does not spare anyone who fall for it. It is saddening. It's painful.

"That's why you are pushing her aside, without even knowing her love for you." I uttered

"I love her, much more than you do." I muttered in a low voice.

After that conversation I started the engine again and drove off to the meeting's venue.

We both didn't talk to each other after that, It was quite odd for us but we hold off our tongues.

After the meeting Izana and I drive home separately but before I left he said "I love her that's why I choose to keep her safe."

We both love her but the moment Y/n confessed to Izana then I already lose her.

Maybe I should visit her this evening, I have to share some details about the meeting and I just want to check on her.

After arriving, I got out the car while holding some fresh bouquet of tulips since she liked it so much.

I took the elevator and quickly arrived at Y/n Condo Unit. I knock a few times but no one answered, I got worried so I access her unit using the spare key card she gave to me.

I quickly opened her unit and was stunned to see her room in such a messed, everything is so messed up.

I panicked and tried to find Y/n but she is nowhere to be find but when I got in the bathroom, A bloody message was written in her mirror.

' The mice is trying to play with the cats.'

The whole bathroom was stained from the blood stench. And now I am hoping it's Y/n's blood.

It Seems someone is trying to set the fire.
