Chapter 3: The play(pt1) Why Me?!

Academically speaking, I've been an excellent student but literature class in Seaview High had been kinda tough for me. I got a C+ in the last test we took and the teacher said I would need to try harder to get an A+ at the end of the term.
  " Miss Mitchell Enrile, the literature teacher has told me that you haven't been participating well enough in her class, may I know the problem?" Mr Gary asked me after he had summoned to his office through a junior student.
  "Nothing's wrong, Mr Gary. But I've improved since the last test, I'm sure of it sir". I replied
  "Oh, that's good. I hope what I've planned for you would be of great help by the end of this term". He said, looking at me sternly.
  "Plan?" I asked, looking at him confusedly.
  "Yes plan. By the end of this term you and your partner would be acting a Romeo and Juliet play and your cooperation and performance will add as a bonus mark to your exam as well as, your literature teacher will also be fully convinced that you've really improved." He explained and when he was done talking, I could feel his gaze studying my facial expression.
  " Who's my partner?" I calmly asked
" He should be here in about 1,2 and_" he was interrupted by the opening of his office door and I turned to look at who it was...
"Mr Jason Smith Enrile, welcome. You came just right in time". Mr Gary said and I became lost.
" Miss Mitchell Enrile, Jason will be playing your Romeo in the play and I hope you both would cooperate well and bring a big smile to my face by the end of this term." He added and my heart shattered into several pieces
Jason was the least person k expected to be my partner for this romantic play...
   "Sir, I'm afraid this is not going to work. It's impossible for the two of us to work together" I summoned up courage and complained.
" Why? Teamwork. You are working together, except if you wanna work with Bobby Slacker,the school's dumbest kid, which is always in detention till the end of every term, would you prefer him?" Mr Gary said and I shook my head miserably and mumbled a "thank u sir", then I walked out of the office as miserable as ever.
  " Why didn't you try to say anything in there?" I asked Jason angrily immediately we got out of the office.
  " And do you think he'd have a change of mind? Mr Gary's a strict person when he wants to be and I don't want my grades to suffer because of someone else's carelessness". He replied coldly and looked away. I just looked at him and miserably looked away too.
  " Why you? Bobby Slacker would have been better if he wasn't so dumb". I said almost crying in misery. I didn't want my grade to suffer.
  " Hey stop tryna talk to me like we're friends, I don't know you except while we're rehearsing our lines for the play as partners, nothing else. Act like you don't know me every other places we might meet". He warned strictly and was about to leave but I stopped him.
  " How will we rehearse? At least we should try to meet somewhere secretly,so that_" I was interrupted
" Let's meet at the old drama club's theatre". He said cooly
" But I don't know that place?" I complained
" Find your way, immediately after school's over, don't even try to be a minute late".he warned while pointing his finger at me with a Stern look, then he walked away.
  "Oh Lord, what's this? Why me?" I asked God staring at the ceiling upon me.
' Lory's the only one who can be of great help right now,let me give her a call' I said to myself then brought out  my phone from my bag and dialled her number....
