I wake up in a familiar place on the soft grass floor. Inhale through my nose smelling the familiar sent. The sickly sweet, yet strangely addicting smell of roses. I open my eyes stretching at the same time. I feel a small shifted next to my curled stomach and as my eyes adjust my eyes adjust I realize what it was. “Hello their cupcake.” I say scratching the youngest fawn of the herd. She looks up at me before sitting his small head back as she goes to sleep again.

I often find myself sleeping in the rose garden behind the castle. It was where I spent most of my time and all of the animals were my friends. The deer, bunnies, squirrels, foxes, etc. have never been afraid of me. Many times they would sit in my lap or sleep with me when I fall asleep. As I sit up I realize that I must get back to the castle before my parent (the King and Queen) realize I’m missing.

I pick myself up and braid my long curly hair. It was so blond it was a transparent white, and so long it touches my lower back even while braided. As I stand I brush of my floor length, maroon gown. It is sewn with rubies and gold thread all throughout the borders. My corset top showed off my tiny waist and pretty large chest. If only the King knew that I thought like that…

I smile to myself at that thought. As I walk out of the garden and onto the side entrance of the center courtyard. I walked with my hands folded and back straight pulling my braid forward over my shoulder. As I head to my room I’m interrupted by my stomach (cue dying whale sound) GURGLE GURLGE. Okay maybe I’ll get some food as well. I look up as a familiar servant girl starts to address me.

“Miss Rose I have noticed you are hungry. Would it please you if I get you some snack and a drink? I shall bring it to your suite, yes?” Says the servant Eliza while she smiles. “If you would like Eliza it would definitely please me. Again though can you please call me Thorn?”

She laughs and says “I shall not it is highly disrespectful Miss Rose. I however will get you your snack though.” As she walks away I call out softly “Thank you Eliza!” As I start walking down the corridor I feel hands grab my hip and pick me up. Next thing you know I feel myself being thrown over my twin brother Treyvan’s shoulder. “Ah!” I scream giggling. As I pound on his back I yell “Put me down Trey!” He laughs and instead of helping me back down he just continues carrying me to my room.

Trey is my best friend other than my twin brother. We hardly ever fight which surprises many people, but we don’t ever get to leave the castle grounds and so we are all each other has. I am still laughing as he open the door to my suite and throws me on my bed. He bows and says “I am proud to be your royal carriage your highness.”

“Well at least I finally found something your good at.” I snicker as I say this, but realize to late that it was definitely the wrong move. He pushes my off the bed and onto the tiled-stoned floor. “Pighead!” I say as I put my finger on the bridge of my nose and push it up. “Proudly,” Trey says his hand on his heart. Than Eliza walks in with the tray of food, sets it down, and bows as she leaves.

Something seriously needs to change…
