As a child, Max had been forced to live with constant pressure and beatings from his father. He was always a racing fan, but as he grew older, his father had forced him to compete in various karting championships. Deep down, Max always knew that Jos just wanted him to achieve what he wasn't capable of during his own racing career, but as a young child, what could he do about it?
Getting into F3 had always been the main goal, but when he eventually made it into F1, he didn't know what could stop him! What could possible get in the way of Max Verstappen's achievements? He was the son of Jos Verstappen, after all. Well, it didn't take him has long as he anticipated to find out. It was love.
-----
Max was buzzing. All of his childhood years were full of struggles, bruises and scars. Today, he could finally say that all of his trauma was worth it.As he jumped out of his car, Max yelled at the top of his lungs, "YES BOYS! WE DID IT!"
All of his crew enclosed him in bone crushing hugs (most of them in tears) but it wasn't enough.
He needed to find Daniel. He and Daniel had been together for 2 years, and they were as happy as they've ever been in their lives. Soon after they became offical, they shared the news with the press. Hiding their relationship didn't come easy to them, so they decided to simply share the news. Walking down the paddock hand in hand for the first time, was a moment that they wished they could both go back to. They felt powerful.
There were many gay relationships on the grid at the time, but Max and Daniel were the first drivers who had been brave enough to come out to the public. The history books gained a new section after that day.
Max knew that he needed to get the podium celebrations out of the way before he could celebrate properly with the love of his life, and so he let himself be guided to the top step, his home flag held firmly in his grasp.
His stomach felt as if there was a lion inside of it, roaring with pride. The commentator announced that the podium were allowed to spray their champagne, and Max celebrated like it was his first podium. A gigantic smile was spread across his face, and noone could take it away from him.
"Good job this season, Christian!" He exclaimed.
"The good wishes should be going to you mate! Unbelievable season from you! Though, I think there's someone waiting to see you," Christian replied with a smirk. And sure enough, when Max glanced over the balcony, Daniel was stood on the tarmac with his signature grin plastered on his face.
"Get down here, champ!" Daniel commanded. After nodding, Max reached for his trophy, and swiftly headed towards the direction of the staircase. He set a lightning pace, and began his descent towards his lover. As soon as he reached the bottom of the staircase, he placed his trophy on the last step and ran towards Daniel.
"I'm so proud of you, baby" Daniel whispered, before closing the minor gap that separated their faces. The kiss was full of love and affection, and Max felt drunk with it. They lips moved together softly, both men trying to flood all of their emotions into eachother. Max opened his mouth as he felt Daniel's tongue graze across his lips, both of them understanding that they needed more. They continued to kiss for another minute, proud tears falling from both of their eyes. Eventually, they separated and took in their surroundings. Everyone nearby were wolf whistling, and he was distracted by all of the attention until he heard a deep voice mutter in his ear,
"C'mon baby, let's get out of here.."
