It just seemed to be one of those bad days for 17 year old Ashton Irwin. Ashton may seem like the happiest kid on the planet, but behind that big smile he's breaking. Ashton was severely bullied last year before he moved schools, that's caused him to pick up a fee nasty habits, he's got a mild case of anorexia, depression and he cuts. He's attempted suicide twice in his short life and now his mum, sister and brother are keeping a close eye on him at all times.

The only people who know about his struggles and problems are his mum, sister, brother and his three best friends, Michael, Calum and Luke.

Today had been hard. He woke up and just picked at every single flaw he thought he had. Today he woke up hating himself.

To make things worse Luke had taken him out for lunch, so he couldn't stay home and wallow in self pity and cry, which is what he really wanted to do. So right now, Ashton and Luke were walking up to Ashton's house and Ashton was so glad to be home because he literally felt he was going to have a breakdown soon.

"I'll see you at school on Monday Ash?" Luke asked softly. He could tell from the moment that Ashton walked out the door that his best friend was having one of his bad days today. He was too quiet, was pulling on his sleeves and scratching at his wrists all day. Luke had to stop him each time before he did any damage.

Flashback..

Ashton and Luke were sitting and the little café that they had decided to go to for lunch. There was an awkward silence, which Luke was trying desperately to fill.

"So Ash?" Luke asked smiling, "How did Harry's soccer game go yesterday?"

"Um, yeah pretty good" Ashton said nervously pulling at his sweater sleeves, "He scored a goal and they won so..." He trailed off suddenly, harshly scratching at his wrists. Luke saw what he was doing and immediately put his hand over Ashton's, which was still scratching.
