Kaminari's POV

"Kamiiiiiiii, we're out of the good snacks agaaaiiinnn!!"

A blur of bright pink races around my vision as Mina whines. I laugh at her as I desperately try to see around her. I'm in the middle of the fairy gym in Pokémon Sword and I CANNOT lose my focus now!

"Mina, move!" I clench my jaw in my focus.

"But I'm hungryyyyyyy!"

My last Pokémon faints. I sigh and put down my controller as I let my head fall backwards. "Why don't you go buy more snacks then?"

"Because I want you to go for me."

I let out a fake laugh and open one eye to look at her. She's got her hands on her hips and a glare on her face. Ah shit she's serious. "I was in the middle of a gym!"

She raises an eyebrow. "And now you're not."

"I'm not going Mina." I say, shaking my head.

She slowly paces around the couch, a menacing look on her face. "Kaminari if you don't go get me my munchies right now..." she had reached the back of the couch directly behind me, she leaned forward and lowered her voice to a whisper. "So help me I will expose the fact that you still have your childhood bun bun hidden under your pillow every night to the whole school."

I gasp. "YOU WOULDN'T!" I jump up, standing on the cushions and wagging my finger in her face.

"Oh but I would."

I place my hand over my heart and pretend to be shot, dramatically falling backwards and landing flat on my back. "That was a low blow Pinky. I'll be sure to inform bun bun of this treason!"

"Better get going then Sparky." She smiles and we both share a laugh as I sit up to put on my shoes. I can't believe she just bamboozled me into going to get snacks for her. Least now I have an excuse to go get my stock of monsters for the week.

As I exit the dorms, a dull drizzle falls from the sky. I leave a trail of puddles every time my foot leaves an imprint in the dirt. They could be lakes for bugs and swimming pools for worms. I always found it funny how have the small things we leave behind are a huge discovery for the little creatures of this world.

So I make sure to leave plenty of foot puddles, maybe when I come back there'll be a bug pool party going on. I'd give them a crumb.

I didn't think to bring an umbrella with me, but it doesn't really matter. I love the rain, it's one of the few things I can keep up with. Every drop is unique, yet you can find the patterns the fall in, and see the shapes they make when they collide with the ground. Rain is always the same, it's just water, to some it leaves a monotonous feeling, but to me it's calming.

I raise my head and close my eyes, breathing in the scent of precipitation on the wind, feeling every drop soak through my hair. I smile. It's a peaceful walk.

By the time I make it to the convenient store I'm soaked to the bone, but I could care less. I've got the holes in my crocs to filter out the water. I can't help but laugh at my own joke.

I shake the droplets out of my hair when I enter the electronic doors and give a wave to the man at the register. I find my way to the snack isle and prepare to talk myself through my choices.

"Okay let's see here....do we want salty or sweet? Or maybe something light? Hmmmm..." I say to nobody in particular. There's so many options and if I make the wrong choice Mina just might kill me. I was ready to just pick something when I spot it. The perfect snack.

Twix popcorn.

Oh.

My.

God.

I snatch it and scream. "WE'RE GETTING ALL THREE!!"

I may look like psycho but I dance my way to the front of the store, grab a few ultra paradise monsters (The only acceptable flavor), and proceed to pay for all of my items.

I walk out of the store, plastic bag in hand, as the rain now turned mist continues to fall. I swear I could sit in the rain all day.

The path back to UA is pretty clear, the whole city is pretty much centered around it. I can look down the wide street and at the very top of the horizon the golden letters shine in the fading sunlight. Y'all buildings line either side, the heights varying, many being superhero agencies. The largest being the most popular heroes of the area. The streets seem deserted at this hour, as if this thriving town was suddenly plagued. A ghost filled scene.

I swing my arms at my side and hum one of my favorite songs, "Electric Love" by Børns. It may describe something I've never felt before, (well I mean unless you count that one time with a rock in like pre-k...), but I love it all the same. It makes me want to dance in the rain. It just to belt the lyrics. Maybe both at the same time.

In between each building a stretch of darkness lies, like the monsters lurking to destroy the golden scene. I look down each one as I pass them, in some you find stray cats, others just garbage, but in every one there is always darkness.

I'm about halfway back when I look down an alley and see neither of the usuals. There's a dark mass in the corner. I squint my eyes to make out what it is, and then I hear it. A faint sobbing.

That thing, it's a person.

"Hey, are you okay?"

They raise their head.

Your POV

I believe I have discovered the bane of my existence. It's blondes.

But if anything it's the electric yellow blonde that finds me curled up in an alleyway sobbing.
