Once Not Twice

Chapter 9

*Catherines POV*

I had to go back to school. I didn't want to at all. I had so much fun this weekend. It was like a dream to me. I walked upstairs and saw Cameron still laying in bed.

"Cameron were gonna be late!" I yelled.

He moaned and rolled out of bed.

"Cameron Alexander Dallas you'd better be ready in 10 minutes" I said.

He chuckled, walked out, and kissed my cheek.

"Well that was fast" I said walking downstairs with him.

He smiled and we headed to the car. When we got to school it was all the same.

"Catherine I need to tell you something" Cameron said stopping me unexpectedly.

"What's wrong baby?" I asked.

"I slept with Scarlett when you were at band practice" he said.

"What the fuck did you just say to me?" I said angrily.

"I was so drunk, I was gonna ask you to marry me and I was worried you were gonna say no and she was comforting me and it just happened" he replied scared.

"Oh my god! I can't believe I'm hearing this" I said sliding my back down the wall.

"I'm so sorry Catherine, I love you more then anything" he said almost in tears.

"Does is look like I care?" I asked.

I did care. He was my first everything. I loved him. I love him still. He cried, he cried so much and in a long time too. He grabbed my hand and I looked away quickly.

"I love you so much" he said cupping my face.

I wiped the tears from his eyes and sighed.

"I know you do, but I think it's time to let go. This is not the first time you've done this Cameron and I have forgiven you so much, but I cannot deal with this pain anymore" I said sadly.

He held my hands and kissed the top of them.

"I'll always love you Cameron" I said smiling.

He smiled.

"I'll never stop loving you Catherine" he said passionately.

He kissed me hard and I felt tingly inside. He hugged me, walked towards the door, and looked back. The way he looked at me felt heartbroken. I walked into class right after and the whole classroom just stared.

Shawn strummed the last note and we sang. He clicked off the camera smiling.

"Great job" he said.

"Thanks" I said with no emotion.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Yeah just sad about-"

"Cameron, I know. It's okay Catherine, he loved you but it's gonna be okay" he said rubbing my back.

I nodded and played with my fingers.

"I promise things will get better, Like I said at paintball I got you" he said smiling.

I chuckled and stood up.

"Thanks Shawn" I said standing up to leave.

"Hey you wanna hang out tomorrow?" he asked unexpectedly.

I looked at the time on my phone, 7:36.

"Sure" I replied smiling.
