"Below Zero"

The thermometer read a deadly number. -16 degrees celsius. We won't last any longer. The ship is coated in ice as well as the seats. It even sat on Stela's face and my face. We won't last any longer. Neither of us spoke a word. It felt like if I opened my jaw, it would snap off. Hope was lost until we heard the hatch open behind us. Still, we did not move. "Oh my god." I hear Madeleine's catchphrase from behind. Bruno and Mads rush in with Bellerose following shortly behind. Bruno rushed towards the controls and turned on the engine as well as all the systems. Warm air smashed the cold out of the room and I had never felt any better. Yet, our bodies still needed to adapt meaning we would experience the horrible blood flow burning feeling around our body. I could move again but my movements were stiff. "Ships gonna need time to defrost." Madeleine said, "especially the engines, they'll need to warm up before we can take off. Though, it does give your body time to warm up." Eventually, I managed to stand up on my two feet. I feel extremely numb and as if I were an ice cube; it was difficult to do anything. Stela still layed on the chair. "So, how did it go?" I ask hoping for good news but the tone of their expressions seems to kick my wishes out the window. "Empty. Completely deserted. But I don't know why." Bellerose replied with a once in a lifetime emotion. Confusion. I figured that if she was confused, it wouldn't be good. "Maybe they knew our plans? Escaped? Maybe just abandoned base?" I try to lift the spirits of the room but the somber feeling always seems to linger onboard. "Right, well, the engines should be good now." Flora says monotonous but she seems mad and I don't blame her. If her superiors find out, it could be big trouble. The engines turned on. "Hm?" Bruno said, puzzled by the controls not working, "We can't get off the ground. It's like something is-'' the ground below us cracked and gave way, the ship began to cascade down a large pit. Our altitude was dropping at incredible speeds. It went below zero; we were officially underground (for this planet). It kept dropping. All of us were yelling and were held above the floor by invisible forces. Bellerose, however, leaned against the wall with the same expressionless face she always displayed. It was all hectic until...

Outside the window was the end of the universe. No lights, no life, no planets; nothing. The colossal vessel stood in the void. It's size meant it could hold hundreds of thousands, yet only one man was aboard. The Great Leader Khan. The most infamous leader in the universe. Leader of the Graekhan empire and conqueror of galaxies. A smaller, yet still huge vessel flew by and entered the docking bay located at the rear end of the ship. Once onboard, the engines stopped and a group of people left their vessel and began to make their way through towards the front of the ship. The walls were completely black, decorated with neon white lights that blared everywhere, shining so bright that they could blind someone. Everything on the ship was polished. Whoever the Khan was, was an organised, perfectionist antagonist. They approached the throne room located at the very front of the ship. A large panel of glass sat in front of what looked to be a throne. The Great Leader was looking outside before being interrupted by the group. "Great Leader." The (what looked to be) general boomed, bowing to his superior, the others following his step. The throne spun slowly around to show a horrendous figure. The man wore a long black cloak with the hood hung over his head. His arms were joined together like a monk. The Khan's eyes were not visible but his rotting mouth was. His skin was blue and withered. His lips, pitch black and his teeth, fangs. "What is the reason for your intrusion?" Khan spoke in a quiet, yet sinister tone with a strong rasp in his voice. It was like the scraping of rusted metal. "My apologies, great leader." General apologised, still bowing. "Get up, you fool." The Leader demanded, spit flying out of his mouth aggressively. "I bear important news." He said, "the Nilphil empire has fallen." A forbidding smile grew on his face. "Excellent." Khan chuckled, "we will now indubitably conquer the New Earth Empire. Keep an eye out and we will attack when the time is right." The group nodded and left the room. "Oh, I'll show you, old friend. I'll show you."
