Fairy tales are a story that we tell our children so that they'll grow up believing in something, whether it be hope, faith or love. It's something that we give our children. Every fairy tale ending in happily ever after and someone learning a hard lesson. Behind the fairy tale is the actual truth. Someone's life becomes a legend. Everyone knows the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Well they don't know the truth behind the story. That the actual fairy tale is based off a real encounter.

I'm the granddaughter of Little Red Riding Hood well the girl from the story. It's said that my grandmother was almost killed by a wolf but saved by the wood cutter that worked for my great-great-grandmother. Her grandmother was sick and needed medicine from the village. My grandma's mother sent her to the house in the woods with the medicine. My grandmother had made it to the house when she realized something was wrong. The door was smashed to pieces. She went into the house and saw a wolf standing over her grandmother's body. I guess my grandmother's scream alerted the wood cutter. He was there with his son. They came rushing into the house. My grandmother watched as the wolf stood on its hind legs and shifted into a human. My grandmother passed out. The whole town thought she was insane. That maybe she fell and hit her head on a rock. But nobody tried to change her mind though. They let her believe in this half man half wolf creature. I think they were too afraid that their cover would be blown and that they would be outcasts. As time went on my grandmother thought she was keeping my mother safe. My grandmother became overbearing and super protective. She thought she was doing the best thing for my mother, trying to keep her from the mayor's son. My mom thought she could handle it because my grandfather balanced my grandmother out. But my mother finally got tired of dealing with her mother and moved away. There wasn't much my grandfather could do or say. She was an adult and it was time for her to make her own decisions. My grandfather died when I was little. She met my dad when she moved to Chicago. They fell in love and got married.

But my father had a secret of his own. He was a werewolf. When he showed my mother she passed out. But she trusted him. She loved him. She wasn't about to lose him to someone else. They were married for 5 years when I came along. My parents were so excited. They never thought that they would have kids. It was something that they both wanted. For the first three years they tried everything to conceive me. After the heartbreak and disappointment they finally gave up with trying to conceive me.

It took another two years before my mom got pregnant. The day she found out was amazing in their lives. Probably one of the best days in their lives. They spoiled me once I was here. Mom and dad never tried to have another baby after me. I know they would have loved another one but they were okay with just me. I was my daddy's little princess and my mom's angel. Everything was fun with them. We only visited my grandma during Christmas time or birthdays.

My father always knew there was a chance of rogue attacks. He never joined a pack but he knew the Alpha of a local pack. They had a deal set so that nobody would attack us. I became really good friends with the packs teenagers. Life seemed pretty good until my parents were killed by rogues. My whole life came crumbling down around me.

I stayed with the Alpha's family until after the funeral. I quit going to school. I could barely function. I didn't feel like eating or sleeping. I would sit on the couch and just stare off into the abyss. The Alpha's family was like my own family. They were hurting just like I was. The Alpha sent hunters over to the house before the police even made it through the door. They had people tracking the rogues. Nobody knew who they were. I remember seeing them but I was a mess. My wolf was hiding things from me. She was trying to protect me.

My grandmother flew down for the funeral. She and the pack helped me clean out the house. I wasn't sell it. Since my parents owned it and my dad was always proactive about their will, it was mine. Everything was mine. I was having everything put in a storage unit up north.
