"Yah!" A whispered voice quietly cried out from behind him. Namjoon felt a sharp hit on his shoulder and broke out of his horrified trance, pushing forward with his gate until it met the other gate. He barely had time to process as Hoseok quickly reached upwards, locking the gates in place before jerking backwards with fright as the hand of one of the zombies shot through the bars.
Namjoon couldn't even process anything as he was yanked away by someone who was definitely not Hoseok, and Hoseok ran after them, trying hard not to let the crazed growls of the zombies get to him. The three of them ran back into the station and ducked into an unlocked stall that had its metal shutters down except for the door.
Panting from shock, Namjoon took a few minutes to recover before looking over at the third person who was seated beside him. It was a young woman, probably around his age.
"This station's not safe. There are zombies in the shelter." She finally said, lifting her body and twisting her head to peek out of a tiny gap left in the otherwise completely covered window.
"Wh-who are you?" Hoseok finally stuttered after his heart rate started to pound a little less.
"My name is Seulgi, nice to meet you. I thought I was the only normal person left in this area." She introduced, glancing at both of them briefly. Namjoon felt his heart sink as he processed what she said.
"There are zombies in the shelter?" He repeated. Seulgi returned to her sitting position and nodded.
"I was on my way to meet a friend when an emergency announcement was made that people were displaying rabid behaviour. Everyone was advised to hide in the shelter. I was in the bathroom near the car park so I was far from where the shelters were but when I came out there were just...hordes of these, these crazy people coming into the station." She recalled, pursing her lips at the memory.
"People ran to the shelters and the group of zombies followed them in there. Even if those people got in safely, there hasn't been any movement from the shelters or from outside since then. Either way, if you go in there, you'll be attacked without question." Seulgi affirmed. Namjoon exhaled. If the people had gotten to safety, they definitely wouldn't open the doors to let strangers in, and if they hadn't, then everyone there was surely a zombie.
"We have to tell the others." Hoseok murmured from Namjoon's side. Seulgi looked over at him.
"Others?"
"There are more people who we're trying to escort to safety." Hoseok informed her. Seulgi nearly choked with how fast she gasped.
"Are you nuts?! Didn't the government say that nobody should try to rescue anybody because the military was on it?"
"Yet we didn't encounter a single soldier while we drove around. We haven't seen any police officers or barricades set up either." Namjoon stated.
"People who are in their homes are fine for now, but what about people who weren't close to home? It's too burdensome for people to bring strangers into their homes for an indefinite amount of time. There are no measures for them aside from the shelters. If we can at least get a couple of people through the first twenty four hours of this mess, then everyone will be able to think a little clearer." He concluded. Hoseok breathed out a sound of amazement.
"I can never get used to that brain of yours. You switch to logic so fast." He chuckled. Seulgi looked at the pair incredulously. These guys were seriously...
"So what will you do now?" She finally queried. Now it was Namjoon and Hoseok's turn to look at her, incredulous.
"What else? We have to leave and find a new place." Namjoon replied. She blinked at them.
