Young Mikaela was just one out of millions of girls that Mark had seen perform online. But it wasn't just her performance that amazed him or got him interested in meeting with her. It was also because something about her had reminded him of the woman he had once had a crush on in high school. The night that Mark came and ate dinner at Mikaela's house was when he finally saw the girl he'd been wanting to see again for a long time. Mark couldn't help but feel pity for the state that their house was in. He realized that they weren't the most wealthy family. But most of all he noticed that Mikaela's mother wasn't very happy in life either... Mikaela's mother had married a very abusive man who treated her like she was of no importance to him. When things got really bad however was when Mikaela was having her 2nd birthday and her father brought home another woman and was making out with her right in front of Mikaela. Mikaela, being a smart little girl had her mother's old smartphone and was taking pictures of them. Luckily, Mikaela didn't get caught. When her mother got home from work that night she asked her what happened while she was gone and Mikaela gave her the phone and showed her the photos that she had taken. "I saw daddy cheating on you today..." she said. Her mother had already known that it would end up happening soon enough. " Thank you, sweetie," her mother said. " Daddy didn't even say happy birthday to me today," Mikaela replied. "Has your father ever said that to you, sweetie?" her mother asked. "No," Mikaela said. "Then I wouldn't expect him to even think about it, sweetie." said her mother. "Ok.". A few days later Mikaela's mom filed a divorce against her husband and set a court date to enforce it. Her mother won the case and gained all of the money that Mikaela's father had stolen from her back and used it to find a new place to live. Mikaela is now 5 years old and performing and writing her own songs. She has been a lot happier since she no longer has to ever see her father again. Her mother has gotten a good-paying job but even the money she is earning isn't enough to pay for the rent. When Mark came over to visit, he didn't expect that he'd see his high school crush again.
