Bakayama

Kageyama pov:

I made my way to class, thankfully making it on time.  I couldn't stop thinking about Hinata.  Why did he do that?  Was it just because I was upset?  Why was he trying to comfort me?  I shouldn't have been so mean to him.  After Hinata tried to comfort me the bell rang for class and then he was gone.  I didn't see him on my way to class after that.  I wonder if we are in different classes.  It'd be cool if we were in the same class, we could get to know each other more.

A few minutes after I sat down and took my books out of my bag, Hinata appeared at the door.  I saw him waving goodbye to someone as he stepped in the classroom.  Who's he waving to?  A friend?  Why am I kinda jealous?  What the hell.  He sat down at his desk, the late bell rang, and class started.

Soon enough lunch break rolled around, I decided to go talk to Hinata.  He was sitting at his desk and pulled out his bento.  When he started eating I asked if I could join.  He shrugged "sure" and I pulled up a seat.

We ate as we talked about volleyball.  I wonder if he'd let me set for him.  That'd be cool, I guess.  I asked him why he likes to play volleyball, he got all excited, "Cause it's just the coolest.  When I get to jump and spike, and the ball goes WHAM on the other side of the net.  It's just the best feeling.  It makes me happy." I laugh a little at his excitement and goofy smile.  His smile makes me happy.  I hope I get to see it more.

Hinata pov:

My mom made my lunch for me today, not my favorite but it's still good.  Onigiri, soft boiled eggs, and steamed vegetables.  I take a bite and then some more, finishing my eggs and steamed veggies.  I pick up one of my onigiri and take a bite, catching Kageyama staring at me.  "Do you want one?"  He was eating his lunch too, but he's looking at me like he wants something. Kageyama blinks at me and then finally responds "huh?  Oh yeah sure."  I give him one and he takes a bite and smiles at me, mouth closed.

He finishes chewing and swallows, "Hey Hinata, would you let me set for you?"  I shrug "Sure, we are gonna be on the same team now.  Might as well get used to working together."  He smiles a soft smile and blushes a little "by the way I didn't mean what I said earlier, that you'll be a loser the rest of your life."  I smile back, "thanks." We both laugh a little and he anxiously looks at the ground for a second, "These onigiri are really good, did your mom make them?" he asks when his eyes meet mine again.  "Yeah, I can bring some more tomorrow.  If you want."  The light scent of summer rain washed over me.  "That sounds nice.  So, we are eating lunch together again tomorrow?"  He questioned and I answered, "I guess so."

We finished eating and chatted a bit more, making jokes and laughing.  When lunch was finished, class resumed as normal.  Why does he keep blushing like that?  Kageyama kept glancing at me during class, it was a little annoying.  I'm not mad tho.  I'm glad we are getting to know each other and becoming friends.

The bell rang and class was done for the day.  I walked up to Kageyama and asked if he wanted to walk to practice together.  He nodded and we headed to the gym.  With the building in sight I turned to Kageyama, "Wanna race?" He looked back at me and stopped walking.  I took off as soon as he stopped, sprinting towards the gym.  "Idiot!  Let me respond first, that's not even fair!" He yelled as he took off running after me.

I was hunched over grabbing my sides laughing my ass off as Kageyama met me at the gym doors.  He gave me a light shove, "Bakayama! Haha!  You're gonna have to try a little harder next time or I might just beat you again." I laughed.  He laughed with me for a moment. "I let you have this one.  Next time I won't go soo easy on you."  He smiled and we headed inside to get ready for practice.

We were the first ones in the gym, we found some volleyballs and started passing the ball back and forth.  "I wanna practice my sets.  Wanna hit some?"  I nodded and we got ready, Kageyama set the ball up.  I jumped up and spiked the ball right into the net.  The ball bounced back and hit me square in the face.  As I fell back to the ground some of the other club members stepped into the gym.

I laid there for a second, then shot up. "I'm okay! Let's go again!"  Kageyama was laughing "How did that even happen?!" A worried looking third year walked over to me, he had light grey hair and hazel-brown eyes, "Are you okay?  That looked painful."  I chuckled a bit and rubbed the back of my neck "uh, yeah I'm okay."  He softly smiled and held out a hand to shake mine "My name's Suga, nice to meet you."  I took his hand "Mines Hinata!"

The rest of the team showed up and we all introduced ourselves.  We stretched and worked on some drills, then practice came to a close.  We retreated to the club room and all got ready to leave.  Me and Kageyama walked out at the same time, "Wanna go get meat buns?" He asked and I smiled  "Sure.  That sounds good."

Kageyama pov:

Hinata and I made our way to the store to get meat buns.  On the way there we walked past a park with a small pond.  Hinata spotted a few ducks in the pond and ran over, "Look! Ducks!" I chuckled.  "I see, they are kinda cute."  He turned to look at me and then back to the ducks.  He burst out laughing, "The mama duck kinda looks like you do." I give him a shove and scowl.  Which only makes him laugh harder.  "See!" he says pointing to my face "You're making the same face!" I growl a little, "I do not look like a duck!" I protest as I splash some water at him.

My face softens as I smell his sweet and happy honeysuckle scent fill the air around us.  He splashes me back and we laugh.  The park was so quiet besides our laughter.  The sky looked beautiful, turning shades of pink, red, and a fiery orange.  The orange reminded me of the mess of hair on top of Hinata's head.  I looked over at him, smiling thinking about the joke he made.  I was making a pretty similar face to the duck.

We sat near the edge of the pond, watching the ducks swim, "Hey Hinata?  You're an omega right?" I casually ask.  Hinata laid back on the grass where we were sitting, "yeah."  I did the same, laying back and stretching my arms behind my head, "Do you like being an omega?" I asked. "I don't know.  It's okay but I don't really like getting unwanted attention from alphas." he shrugged a bit and turned on his side to face me.  My eyebrows raised slightly in question, "Am I an unwanted attention giving alpha?" I really hope that's not what he thinks of me.  Hinata giggled "No, you're cool. We are friends now and I know you probably won't hurt me."  I sigh a breath of relief, "I won't, I promise."  He smiles softly, "Thank you Kageyama." there was a pause and he shot up so he was sitting straight and said "Oh yeah! We were going to get meat buns.  We should probably go before the store closes."  I stand and reach out my hand to help him up and we head off.

We get to the store, I go and grab a few meat buns for us and pay.  I hand Hinata one and he gladly accepts.  "Thanks Kageyama!"  We hangout near the store on a bench and eat our meat buns while we talk.  When we are done we get up, say our goodbyes, and start heading our separate ways. "See ya tomorrow Bakayama." He says with a smirk, "whatever boke."  I laugh a little as I turn to walk towards my house.  Yeah, going to Karasuno was for the best.

Heyyyy!  I hope you guys are having a good week so far!    The picture is the duck I had in mind btw 😂
