Liam woke up with a jolt, straightening up from where he had his head resting on the bed by Theo's hand. He quickly got to his feet when Theo stirred.

Theo stirred again, groaning and Liam gave their joined hands a squeeze, watching with bated breath as Theo's eyes fluttered open. Despite Melissa's reassurance that his husband will be alright, it was still a relief to see. It was hard to believe it's only been a few hours. It felt like years.

"Hey T, how're you feeling?"

Theo blinked owlishly at him for a few moments. "Wow. You're really pretty."

Okay that was unexpected. He leaned down and kissed Theo's forehead. "Thanks Theo. Do you need me to call Melissa? Do you feel pain anywhere?"

"No but you're like, beautiful. Are you an angel? You look like an angel."

Liam remembered Melissa saying something about strong painkillers and that Theo might be a little, well, loopy when he came to. Not that he paid attention through the haze of worry and barely controlled anger at the stupid drunk driver getting out with barely a scratch.

He guesses this is what she meant by 'loopy'.

"Not exactly."

Theo pouts in disappointment and Liam feels his warmth spread through him. "Just focus on waking up okay? Do you want me to get you something to drink?"

Theo nods distractedly, hazel eyes following Liam's every move as he gets the cup of pepsi on the bedside table and puts the straw at Theo's lips. Theo takes a sip, eyes not leaving Liam.  He releases the straw with a grimace, looking down at his body.

"My side hurts."

"I'll ask the doctors if they can get you more painkillers, okay?"

"Do you work here? You're, like, so pretty. Prettiest man I've ever seen. You should be a model."

"Ok Theo." Said Liam with a chuckle. "Come on, drink some more."

Theo took a long sip before continuing. "Or an actor. People should look at you all the time."

"They kind of do since I play lacrosse for a living."

"No wonder you look like" Theo gestures at Liam with his hand "that."

Liam isn't even trying to stop the smile as he pulls a chair towards him and sits down, taking Theo's hand in his once more. "Yeah? Like what?"

"Ripped." Liam lets out a laugh and Theo smiles at him drunkenly.  "What's your name?"

"Liam."

"Liam." Theo repeats, dragging it out. "You're hot."

"Well, I'd hope you think so, considering I'm your husband."

"Whaaaat?" Said Theo, eyes widening and trying to sit up straighter, only wincing and falling back  for his effort.

"Idiot." Liam chided. "Don't move."

"You married me? For real?" Theo said, awe evident on his face. "

"Yes."

"You're my husband?" Said Theo, incredulous.

"Yep." Said Liam, smiling and holding up his hand to show Theo his ring. "You're stuck with me."

"Holy shit." Said Theo, eyes closing. "Damn."

Theo stayed silent for a moment and Liam thought he was back to sleep, but Theo's shot open again. "Wait, how long?"

"A while."

"Damn." Said Theo again, eyes running over Liam's face like he was trying to memorize every single detail. "Wait, do we have kids?"

"Not yet. Maybe someday if you want." Said Liam smiling wider.

"Wow." Said Theo, raising his own hand and looking at the ring on his finger. "Wow. Holy shit."

"Yeah. It's pretty wow, baby."

"We call each other baby?" Said Theo and Liam didn't think he'll ever get tired of his slack jawed expression. He nods and Theo smiles. "That's so disgustingly romantic. Oh man. I hit the fucking jackpot!"

Liam laughed at that. "We both did."

Theo closed his eyes again and Liam thought they might stay that way. But his hazel eyes popped back open and he turned to look at Liam.

"Wait, have we kissed yet?"

"Yep. Many times."

"Woah." Said Theo and Liam nodded, stroking Theo's hair back so it doesn't get in his eyes. "I'm kinda tired."

"Get some rest." Said Liam kissing his forehead again and reveling in the content smile on Theo's face.

"Will you show me pictures of us when I wake up?"

"All the pictures you want." Liam promised. And with that in mind, Theo went back to sleep soon after, Liam still stroking his hair and a smile on his face.

Liam's smile never went away either.
