Ada POV
"Jordan,hey Jordan!,wake up!",I said shaking his leg.
He opened his light brown eyes slowly. I smiled at him and surprisingly he returned it.
"Morning",I said happily
"Hey,what up?",he said rubbing his eye.
"How's your back?",I asked him.
"Sore",he said yawning
"Where is everyone",he said looking around the empty ship,I sighed.
"Their setting us up for auction day,I came back for you when I didn't see you out there, let's go",I said standing up and stretching out my hand for him.
He gripped it firmly and tried to pull himself up,but he was to strong and I to tiny,. So he pulled me down on him instead.
I fell in his lap,our lips slightly brushed against each other. I felt the heat rising in my cheeks.
I thought he was gonna be mad but he smiled instead.
"A-am so sorry-i didn't mean to fall-I",he cut my rambling off by laughing.
I smiled.
"Am sorry,did I hurt you?"
He shook his head.
"No,am fine",he said
I nodded and got up,and he came up on his own this time. He grunted a few times, but tried to play it off.
We soon made our way up to the top of the ship were everyone was spread out all over the floor.
This was the only time the black mixed with the lighter skin Africans.
The boat was set up with five rows of ten chairs, with a little stage and a mic.
The boat had stop at a dock and the rich white people who tend to buy us was already filing on board.
As we walked out I spotted my mother waving us over.
"Come on, there's my mom",I said risking the rejection of taking his hand in mine.
He surprised me again by not saying anything.
We started walking towards her until some one called out for Jordan.
We turned around and Clear came running up to us. She pulled Jordan into a hug, causing his hand to slip out of mine.
I felt sadness wash over me.
She was his best friend, how can I ever be compared her. She was as pretty as all the other light skin girls and was short and cute for a thirteen year old. And she had pretty soft wavy hair while mines was big, hard and rough.
Jordan hissed when she wrapped her arms around his was and she pulled back instantly.
"What's wrong?",she asked him softly.
Great, even her voice was adorable.
"Nothing",Jordan said,hiding his pain with a smile.
