Letters of Penance

Chapter 1

~~~~~ Veronika's POV ~~~~~

Screaming. Nothing but screaming.

I'm standing outside the Hall of Punishment, waiting for my mother to call for me. It's my first day of Judgement. Obviously I'm not thrilled. 

So much screaming.  

I waited for the trumpet that would signal my entrance. The same trumpet that would signal my Coronation. My Sacr Cor. *Sigh. But I have to. I must. I have no other choice. If I don't take up the throne no one else will. *Sigh.

Pain. The emotion everyone experiences here in Scelus Sceleris. Everyone except the Koshitsu. A clan I was born into.   

Fear. The only thing my family believes will keep the nation in line. The emotion they drill into people.

Hope. What my family has tried oh so hard to deprive them of, but simply can't.

TUMTURUNUMP!!! I wince at the loud noise. This is it. One of the things I have been dreading since the day I was born. 

TUMTURUNUMP!!! A single loud sound was the only thing separating me, my parents, my family, and the people I was about to torture.

 TUMTURUNUMP!!! Here goes nothing.

~~~~~ Timothy's POV ~~~~~

This is it. I was about to kidnap the next tyrant that will rule this god forsaken land.

I'll do anything in my power to free this land of it's poverty.

Of it's fear.

Of it's anger.

Of it's shame.

We weren't always this chaotic. Once upon a time, this was a prosperous nation.

A strong empire.

A great empire.

No one knows of this. The Koshitsu hid all known records of the Imperyo no Magnus - Empire of the Great. You're probably wondering how I know all of this. Well, I said they hid all known records, but what about the unknown records? My name is Timothy Skimon. I am known as the Hari no Libertas - The King of Freedom. The one who will bring an end to this tyranny.

Sacr Cor : the Latin term for "Coronation". (according to my 'resources') 

Scelus Sceleris : the Latin term for "Sin". But in this case, it is known as the capital of the Imperyo. {Filipino of "Empire"}

Koshitsu : the Japanese term for "Royal Blood" or "Royal Family".

Imperyo no Magnus  : Empire of the Great.

Hari no Libertas : King of Freedom.
