In a small apartement in the city, a baby is born. The boy, who is a son of Poseidon and Sally Jackson, is a boy who had been destined by the fates to be a great hero. His mother named him after one greek hero who had a good life, Perseus "Percy" Konstans Jackson.

A month before, just in the next apartment, a boy, born of Beryl Grace and Jupiter, was born, just a few years after his sister was born. Both siblings are also destined to be great heroes. The boy, named Jason Grace, and his sister, Thalia Grace, would later be young Percy's best friend and companion.

Later, when Percy was five, the Grace siblings and the Jackson family moved together to London. Beryl Grace had died, and Sally had adopted Jason and Thalia. They lived together in an apartment near the Thames.

Percy is just awake, and are currently wearing his uniform when Jason called him. When he came, Jason is staring at a newspaper, his mouth opened.

"What's wrong, Jase?" Percy asked, confused.

"Read this," Jason said, handing the newspaper to Percy. "We just declared war."

Percy read the newspaper, and just as Jason said, written in huge fonts, the headline

-GREAT BRITAIN DECLARED WAR AT GERMANY-SUMMARY REJECTION TO BRITISH ULTIMATUM-

"Fuck," Percy muttered, fear and anxiety clearly evident in his voice.

Why wouldn't he? He had joined the army last year, not expecting to experience war. The good news is that Jason is not in the army, he doesn't want a family of his to die. He doesn't want this, but he has to fight.

Percy put down the paper and goes to the kitchen to make some breakfast.

"Mom, Peter, I'm going out! I might not return until late," he shouted, before running out with a toast in his hand.

Sally is confused at first, but when she sees the London Times headline, she understood what happened. Percy's stepdad, Peter Blofis, also felt the same way as Sally. They both are worried, but they know Percy can survive this. He is trained by the army for a year, after all.

Far away, in a cave in Mt. Olympus, Greece, the three Fates are watching what happened. Perseus Konstans Jackson had been destined to bring glory. Their mother, Ananke, had fated so, and it is their job to ensure that. The son of both Greece and Rome will be the greatest hero to ever live.

A/N: This is a rewrite of From Different Years. The plot is similar but changed. Jason is not in the war yet, but he will. I have great plans for them. Until next time, see you.
