Chapter 12

The mist cleared, and all she could see was a road, leading into a forest. The rest was nothingness, all around her. She saw something move, and turned around, only to stare at the faceless figure of a man, ready to kill her. She ran. Hard. She knew that this was a test of intelligence, because as soon as she started running, she knew that she could not outrun this man. She headed for a tree, grabbed the trunk, and swung herself in the other direction. The man looked confused, and hesitated for a moment before continuing to run. At least she had bought herself some time. She was getting too tired. She stopped. Turned around, and said aloud "this is a stupid test". The man running at her had almost reached his destination, and proceeded to run at her head, arms outstretched. However, before he could grasp her, she made a quick sidestep, and the man ran straight past her, and the mist made a reappearance.
