Sometimes you're too cheerful and happy and it's too much for him. He'd had a bad day and the last thing he wanted to come home to was you talking excitedly about something; he just wanted a nice quiet evening and that wasn't what he got. So he snapped.
Peter:
Sometimes it's too much sarcasm. He likes it but also doesn't need you responding to practically everything he says with it.
Charlie:
Your anxiety. He felt horrible for feeling that way. He really does love you sometimes he would wish that things could be a little different.
