Let my words reach you

Why do I feel so broken so alone
when I know I have a family I know I have a home
so why is it that I feel like each tear I deserve
I want to speak out but I can't find the nerve
My story should be heard but it's hidden in rhyme
That they think is a joke made to pass time
But the truth is in each word is a piece of my heart
I placed there so carefully as I fell apart
Through time and through pain my story was born
Through ups and through downs I felt myself torn
Now my soul is just verses I have left on the page
As a mediocre writer earning minimum wage
In time I will disappear but my words will stay
I hope they make a difference to someone someday
And if I am gone and your reading this now
I have a message to tell you and this poem is how
So listen to me not the voices in your head
I want to help you live while they want you dead
It's not the easy way out its called giving in
You can't let the voices so easily win
Whether they are old friends or your own family
They've only hurt you up to now so listen to me
I'll say it even though you've heard it before
Every bad thing your called you are worth so much more
Your perfect in my eyes no past can change that
No amount of cuts or burns, nor skinny or fat
Your a beautiful soul with a future as bright
Come out of the dark and experience the light
Remember in this world you are never alone
You can always find a new place to call home.
And is you forget how much your life means to me
Remember this poem, my words, and maybe you'll see.

~an original poem by me for anyone out there willing to listen~
