Chapter 1: A Rare Encounter
She sat there, sipping her mocha, as she read her book. A new sensation as critics put it, she however, was not one for the story line the pages contained. The title 50 Shades of Grey, yes people, that book, it was an assignment for her to read as stated by her new employer " This book is the first thing on the agenda for you to read. We have a client coming in and they want to make sure its, how would you say it, comfortable for college students." College students? Who in their right mind would want college students to read this mess. She couldn't even make it past the first chapter without chucking it at the wall in embarrassment? Frustration? No, it was more for the vile taste it created in the back of her throat. Yes, that was reason.
Christian Grey, one of the main characters of the book, was someone who doesn't exist in real life. For the fact that nobody at the age of 27 is a billionaire, not to mention that dedicated to sex, and dare she say it, not that attractive. All opinions aside, she had respect for his blunt characteristic but a guy like that, just rubbed her the wrong way. She's came across a few men in her years that could rock the boat, not even one of them could possible do the things Christian has done to Anastacia, the other main character of the book. She put the book down, closing the back cover as she finished the last page. She combed her fingers through her hair bringing it up into a ponytail. Her hair was reddish-brown, dying it red adding the brown roots made her hair an interesting kind of style. Sipping what was left of her mocha she got up and tossed it in the trash can making her way to the door. In her own little world she hadn't notice the human on the other side of the glass making their way to enter the coffee shop. She reached for the handle as he pushed it open from his side causing the door to smack right in her face. That was going to leave a bruise. Was that blood dripping from her nose, were those the eyes of hunger portrayed on his face? Weird.
"WHAT THE HELL?" Her hand went straight for her nose, to at least try, to stop the bleeding. Her thoughts rambled a mess of words through her head as she tried to figure out who the complete imbecile was for not watching where they were going. The shirt that she had in mind to wear that day, not only for a casual sense to the morning and early afternoon, but also for a get together later on planned for that evening, it was a nice top, now ruined by the red color of blood, consisting of a corset-look and about 4 -inch straps. Nothing said it had be grandma casual.
"Damn it, instead of being simpleminded, how about you pay attention to where the bloody hell ya' goin." The Australian accent slipped of his tongue like brownie mix. His intention for today has to get an English scone and vanilla mocha grande, hoping to rid the awful night before that had contained of way too much alcohol and girls. A guy like this wasn't your typical everyday encounter.
"Me? How about you, you pig head, could have said something. Instead, we're just going to assume that no one was coming out of the coffee house. Fuck, my nose. Are you standing there for your health or you at a least decent enough to ask if I'm okay? Probably not. You're like all the rest of them. Never mind, I've got my nose well handled no thanks to you, jack ass." Walking towards the exit, she was interrupted with a grip of her wrist, tug of her arm, and a face plant into the guy's chest. Looks like it wasn't her day, after all.
"Hey at least give me a chance, would you? Look I've had an awful day I didn't want it to start out this way, believe me. Let me take you to the doctor or something, I'm not a doctor but it looks like you broke your nose." he looked into her eyes with concern most men aren't that nice. She didn't really have a choice in the matter it was either go to work looking like she got jumped and possible have a billion question thrown at her or go to the doctor's to have her nose fixed temporarily and be late for work, plus the guy sound like he was offering to pay for it. In the end she chose the latter of the two. Actual she did not, she rather by hounded by her boss then be late for work.
