Ever since the incident occurred in the old school building  Master Rikuo has been avoiding me. I don't like it at all. I was going to confront him about it but Kejōrō told me he needed space. I didn't get it but I did what she asked. When I approached him I stood 3 feet away from him giving him space. He ran away not even giving me a chance to speak.

Now I'm currently sitting in the kitchen cuddling Koi. "I don't get it Kejōrō," I squeeze Koi tightly which provided me great comfort.

"I did what you said and gave him space but he still ran away" I huff out annoyed because I'm not near Master Rikuo at the moment. Kejōrō smiles at me amused for some reason.

"By space I do mean physically space but also time to himself" my confused face makes her sigh. "Without you."

I jump to my feet startling the yokai before me. "If I'm not with him who will protect him?"

"Yuki-onna and Aotabō will be there to protect him" that gnawing feeling was starting up again. I wonder if I should just listen to Kejōrō.

"Does he not want me anymore?" I press Koi to my cheek as I think of why young master would be upset with me. I only told him it would be unwise for him to protect me since he was human.

I was only speaking the truth.

Humans are weak and are unable to defend themselves from yokai unless they are trained properly. Master Rikuo does no such training in order to protect himself anymore, so he is to be protected always.

I firmly believe if he choose to be human that he should be treated as one...even if he's so much more. Maybe I should try talking to him once more. "Just one more time" I mutter softly. I stood up and went to look for Master Rikuo.

I search for him in his room, the guest room, the tea room, and the bathroom. He was nowhere which made that gnawing feeling ten times worse. As I was heading to the front gate, smaller yokai followed me.

"Gyokuto, come play with us" the Yokai chant, but I paid them no mind.

"Go eat sweets or something else. I am looking for Master Rikuo" I shoo them off. I didn't have time to play at the moment. Master Rikuo was top priority.

"You're going the wrong way then. He's at the parlor with Lord Zen" Nattō Kozō said making me stop in my tracks.

I smile down at the small yokai. I give the Yokai a spare bag of mochi I was going to try Rikuo to talk to me, but I will find another way. I bow and took off in the direction of the parlor.

I got there and was met with Lord Zen's poison feathers. "It seems like I am too late...." I couldn't help but frown. I just kept looking and they were in the main room. Usually important meeting are held here. Rikuo was getting educated about the Nura clan's duty. A noble duty to protect the weak yokai.
