Joseph's P.O.V.
"Hey, Jo, think you can help me set up my tent?" I spun around to find Lizzie watching me with her hand on her hip and her head tilted. The sly smile on her face told me that she didn't plan on pitching her tent herself.
"And what will you give me if I help?" I smiled and made my way towards her. The wind picked up a bit, blowing the material of my hoodie in all directions, lifting it up a bit and baring some of the skin on my stomach to the elements.
"I think you know what I'll give you." She grinned mischievously. I shook my head and popped my hands into my jean pockets.
"Sorry, Liz. I have a policy. No helping whores." Her smile dropped into a frown and her body language changed dramatically form having her hand on her hip to having her arms folded tightly across her chest. The wind blew her hair about her face, some strands getting caught in her lashes, and in a fit she tugged her hair back into a ponytail. She glared at me one last time before turning around and marching off.
"JERK!" She yelled out behind her. I snickered, knowing she wouldn't be mad for long.
Walking away from her I turned around to warm myself up by the fire. When we had arrived at the camp grounds It had already been cold at a chilling 16°, but in anticipation we had learnt that it would drop to at least 5° tonight.
I dropped myself in front of the fire, opposite to a girl who hadn't said anything since we had arrived. "Hey!" I waved towards her. She looked up for a moment before shying away and picking up a book that sat next to her. "You gonna say 'hey' back or what?" She ignored me that time and scrunched herself into a small ball and wrapping a small blanket around herself.
I gave up on grabbing her attention and focused on the flames in front of me. They weren't that big seeing as the most the lot of us knew about camping was that we should bring a tent and clothes. Besides from that the internet had been our best friend in helping us prepare, although half of us had forgotten what the camping wiki had said. None of us had taken notes except for Shannon, but she had fallen ill and didn't end up coming.
Someone sat themselves down next to me and reached their hands out to warm them up by the fire. I turned my head to see it was Jasmine.
"Sup Jo." She said in a bored tone. She shuffled her bum around a bit before finding a nice space on the dirt.
"I guess the flames are up." I grinned at her and she gave me a blank look.
"That was so lame."
"Was it?"
"Yeah." I shrugged and reached around to my back pocket and pulled out a packet of cigarettes. I know, unhealthy. "You want one?"
She raised her eyebrows at the offer but ended up taking one anyways. Jasmine was the sort of girl who didn't really care about anything. It made it difficult to talk to her at times, but she also ended up being pretty chill. Most of the girls (and some of the guys) would freak out when being offered a smoke, but not Jasmine. She reached forward and used the fire to light her smoke, taking a drag before turning so she was facing me.
