Hatred Hurts the Worst

Hatred hurts the worst

When that hatred is your own

It bubbles up, about to burst

And burns you to the bone

Hatred hurts the worst

When you hate yourself the most

You're haunted by a curse

A demon that you host

Hatred hurts the worst

When you're lonely and you're sad

It's a song that can't be versed

A memory of what you had

Hatred hurts the worst

When you're more broken than you seem

You hunger and you thirst

For an ounce of self-esteem

Hatred hurts the worst

When you tear yourself apart

Wounds cannot be nursed

Once they eat away your heart
