I hated most not being able to hear anything. It's like drowning in water that isn't even there. The only other really friend I had was Ty, I've known Ty my entire life. Our parents talked every day and same with me and Ty. Our parents think that we are going to get together. I don't think that will happen any time soon. My mum walked in my room and stood in the door way. "Ready for school Rylan?" She signed. My mum learned to sign when I first went deaf. My mum and father got divorced when I was 3 years old. I haven't seen my dad in over a year, I miss him but he hasn't really tried to be in my life. My mum loved me so much and I couldn't ask for a better mum. She sat down next to me on my bed and signed "are you ok?" I nodded and signed back "yeah, just tired I guess." I walked into the kitchen and saw Ty standing there eating an orange. He smiled and waved, I smiled back and waved. Ty's smile is perfectly white, his hair is blonde and he has blue/ grayish eyes. He was good looking I'll admit. I've always sorta kinda liked Ty, but there is no way he would ever like me like that. My mum threw me a granola bar and signed "leave, it's getting late". I sighed and made this awful noise. Ty smiled and open the door. I got into his car and buckled up I turned the radio station and layer back into the seat. Being deaf was awkward sometimes because you can't sign and drive at the same time in less you were a ninja or something. So you basically can't "talk" at all. Ty was a grade ahead of me so he was in a different hallway. Ty always stopped by my locker in the mornings though, as soon as I got to my locker I saw Ty and smiled. " hello again" I signed. He smiled and signed "hello." I opened up my locker and grabbed my books then closed my locker. Ty signed "so what do you want to do after school?" I smiled and signed back "your going to look at me like I'm crazy but let's go to the tattoo parlor." I was right Ty looked shocked and shrugged his shoulders and nodded. I walked into com arts and couldn't wait in till the day was over, the more I thought about the day going by slowly the day went even slower. I stared at the clock all day long and finally the lunch bell rang, half more of the day left I thought. I sat in the first empty table outside. Ty sat his try next to my lunchbox and sat down. " what?" He signed. I shook my head and raised an eyebrow. He signed " what I can't have lunch and sit next to my best friend?" I took a bite of my cookie and offered half to Ty, he to half and ate it.
I turned towards Ty and signed " I'm guessing your girlfriend broke up with you and so now your siting with me?" He frowned and looked down. ' yes!' I thought, wow I am so girly around him. I nudged him and smiled, He smiled back. Once school was over I ran to my locker shoving past everyone. I opened my locker and threw my books in, grabbed my book bag, and went straight to Ty's car. He was standing in front of his car playing a game and didn't bother to look up. His face was full of frustration and I smiled. "So why are we going to the tattoo parlor?" Ty signed. I shrugged. He backed out of the parking lot and drove off. We arrived at the tattoo shop and I was jumping up and down. Ty signed "wow chill" I went inside and there was a girl with tons of piercings and tattoo all over. "She said what can I do for you?" It was crazy how easy it was for me to read her lips. I typed in my notes on my phone and Ty looked over at my phone, I typed "can I get a nose piercing?" She nodded and said "follow me." I signed to Ty "wait here" he sat down in a chair and pulled out his phone. I walked into the back room and sat in the dentist looking chair. "What color or type?" I think she said. I typed "can I look at the choices?" She held up a box full of different colors and types I looked and looked. I pulled out a ring looking one. She smiled and I think she said "I would if chosen that one too." She loaded the piercing gun to my nose, she counted down and I felt a strong sharp pain go through my face. She put ouitment one my nose. She wiped my blood away from my nose. "My name is Courtney by the way. I smiled and typed "thank you for the piercing." I walked to the front counter and paid Courtney and walked out. Ty looked at me with his mouth wide open. I shrugged and signed
"What?"
Ty signed back "what the heck?"
I shrugged and smiled, "like it?" I signed.
"Actually, yeah I do. It looks good on you" he signed back. I blushed a little I think. Nice one Rylan. Ty drove me back home, once I got home a sighed and signed to Ty "wonder what she will think." He shrugged. I walked in and went to the kitchen. I smiled at mom she signed "how was the first day back to school?" I shrugged. Mom stopped I front of me and raised an eyebrow. "What is that?" She signed and pointed to my nose. I smiled and signed "like it?" She looked at me for. Second then nodded. "But next time you put holes in your face, can you let me know before hand?" She signed smiling. I signed "will do." Me and Ty went upstairs to my room. Ty flopped on my bed and I sat in my desk chair. He looked up and signed "wanna watch a movie?" I signed back "sure why not, what movie?" Ty walked over to my movie case and pulled out "avatar" I smiled and he tossed me the dvd. I put it into the did player and laid down on my bed. Ty laid next me and my body caught on fire. Or at least that's what it felt like. I eventually feel asleep and when I woke up I had my head on Ty's stomach. I looked up at Ty and he smiled and signed "morning sleepy head" he had a goofy smile. I smiled and got up. I grabbed my phone and saw that I got a text from an unknown number. I must of had a confused look on my face because Ty tapped my shoulder and signed "what is it?" I shook my head and put my phone down. I pulled out my binder and stared on my homework. Ty had to go home, at 5:30 but he left at 5:15 even though his house is right next to mine. I felt my phone vibrate and saw that Ty texted me, like he does every night. "Goodnight Ry pick u up tomorrow morning😉" I smiled and ended up forgetting to text back. I didn't sleep at all what so ever. I kept on thinking about Ty, all night long. 'I wonder what it would be like if Ty liked me back', 'I wonder if Ty likes me', 'does Ty know I like him?' The best one was 'I am way too obsessed about this.' When I woke up I threw on a Panic! At the disco shirt and black leggings. I walked down stairs and put on my black vans and signed. "Good morning mum, skipping breakfast today" I kissed her on the cheek, grabbed my book bag and left. I met Ty in the car and smiled. He drove off and pointed to my nose and signed "does it hurt?" I shook my head no. He nodded and turned the radio up almost all the way so we could feel the beat and kinda sorta not really here the words.
