I am Yae Miko. Guuiji of the Grand Narakumi Shrine. Now I wish I could say I was as perfect as that. That I don't have fears and doubts but sadly both are true. Someone very special to me has recently, let's just say, locked herself away. I worry about her tremendously. If she let me see her maybe I wouldn't worry as much but she's stubborn and I guess that's fair.

After the war, I barely saw her. I still only see her in the direst circumstances. I've been trying to get closer to her but something... happened and she forced me away. I do understand why if only that didn't lead to my downfall.

Had I not been stupid, I wouldn't have this sword through me. This is the end of the line for me but after living so long I feel I strong sense of relief.

Dark, thick, red blood taints my clothes, oh how hard it'll be to get it off. My eyes feel so tired if only I could shut them but a blinding bright light is calling me. Ei is standing there, hand out, waiting for me to take it near the pure white light. How can I not?

Now don't worry, Traveller, before I go I'll tell you the tale of how I got here, haha. Just wait, it's a better story than any of my previous stories. One to go down in history for sure...

                                                                                               { ~ }

 It was one bright morning that I had a grand idea. I was reading a terribly written story, of course, it wouldn't make it to publishing but I'd read the first two books so why not read the third? I was eating my favorite food, Kitsune Udon, truly amazing as ever. Compliments to the chef. Anyways, the story was about a romantic duo who faced the world together despite wanting different things. Spoiler alert, they go separate ways to live out their true destinies. That's when I had the idea. Everything goes away at some point. Nothing lasts forever and so I decided to seize the moment.

I'd raced to a stand that sold Dango Milk. Can't remember what it was called for the life of me... Anyways, the man working there was kind of enough to give it to me free when I explained the situation. It was wrapped in pretty black paper with white paper covering the top tied up with a pretty aqua ribbon in a bow. I grabbed two making sure we wouldn't get thirsty before setting off to look for something, anything, sweet.

After about two hours, I was wasting time. Noon turned into dusk and lanterns were slowly being lit up, illuminating the sky. Oh did I forget to mention it was the Shogun's birthday? Everyone the whole day was in a frenzy trying to prepare. At this point, it was almost time for the celebration.

I'd finally found some sort of dessert, Tri-color Dango to be exact. I had to carefully balance it in my arms as I then raced towards Yae Publishing House since a birthday gift wouldn't be good enough without some books.

In that moment a lovely young couple walked by. One handed the other flowers and making the other's eyes light up as bright as the stars. It finally hit me what I was missing, but there wasn't enough time in the day to get those beautiful flowers. Maybe next time. And so once again, I set off towards my desired destination.

Thirty minutes later I'd arrived in front of Tenshukaku. Horrible place horrifies me. And so I eye the guards and try to walk to the doors. Of course they stop me. I pushed the sharp spear tip of one of them away and then the other, moving my hand to the cold golden handles and opening one side of the door just wide enough to walk in. After all, they wouldn't dare mess with me.

The door closes behind me, and I see the Shogunate just standing there, back turned in my direction.

 I take a couple steps towards her.

She of course lashes out, sword and everything before I get sucked into the Plane of Euthymia. Almost dropped the Tri-color Dango there. I take a couple steps towards Ei, confidence in my strides.

Like always, she appears to be meditating until her eyes open slowly and she gets up from her resting position, taking three steps towards me.

She opened her mouth slowly before saying, "Miko... What're you doing here?"
