Chapter 4

Saturday, 8:45 am

Today is the day I get my business back and running. I had it running before but since the whole thing with Jaylen and me moving I haven't had time to do any of those things yet.

Right now I'm On my way to chick fila after dropping my packages off at the post office.

I pulled into the drive thru of chick fila
And ordered a spicy chicken sandwich meal with cheese and no tomatoes with a Arnold Palmer and some chick fila sauce.
Once I paid and got my food I left and started driving home.

Pulling up at home I seen Kai's car in the drive way. Living with Kai is not as bad as I thought. He stays outta my way and I stay outta his way. We rarely see eachother because of his busy work schedule. It's like I live there by my self really.

Anyways Getting out my car I went in the house and walked in the kitchen and put my food in the microwave while I went to the patio to smoke.

When I walked out there Kai was sitting in one of the patio chairs smoking a blunt. I walked over and sat down and lit my blunt. I took a hit and leaned my head back to let the smoke out.

As I raise my head up I make eye contact with Kai. I mugged him. "What".

"You real pretty mama" he said looking my right in the eyes.

My face softened as I looked down. "Thanks" I played with my nails that needed a fill-in.

He just nodded and kept smoking his wood, as I did the same to mine.

We sat in silence til I decided to ask him a question. "Sooooo, how long you been living here?"

He look over before responding "About a year in a half, ain't been that long." He said taking a puff.

"Mmm, I got you some food in the kitchen" I said as I ashed my wood and went in the house. I went in the kitchen and started warming up my food. Soon after Kai came in the kitchen.

"I don't know what you like so I just got what I would get." I shrugged

"Preciate it, ma" He said nodding at me.

"Welcome" I grabbed my food and went to the living room and turn on Rush hour. Soon after Kai came and joined me.

We sat and ate in silence til Kai grabbed my plate and took it to the kitchen.

"Thanks Kai you didn't have too" I said as her renters the livingroom. "It's not problem, love" he said making heavy eye contact with me, making me look at getting shy.

I looked back at the movie, when I heard him chuckling. " what?" I said looking at him " ain't no reason to be shy ma, I ain't gone do nuthin" he licked his lips.

"I mean I don't really know you so how do I know that"

"Well if you don't really know me why we living in the same apartment?" He questioned look at the side of my face as I watched the movie.

" it's not like I had a choice, I literally  came down here with enough money to get this apartment, I haven't even built up any clientele to make any extra money, sooo I gotta take what I can get." I said with a nervous laugh.

"Mmmm" he said looking toward the tv.

Silence....

"Your not much of a talker are you" I said breaking the silence.

"There's no need to talk, I only talk when needed." He shrugged.

"Mmmm, welll it's getting pretty late so I'm going to call it a night" I said standing up.

"Ight shawt, Goodnight"

"Goodnight Kai" I said smiling

Kai POV:
4:36 am

I jumped outta my sleep when I heard a loud scream. I hopped up and grabbed my gun before walking outta my room.

I walked down the hall to Joie's room, as I opened the door I seen her moving in her sleep.

" no, no, no, NO get off of me Jaylen."

I walked over yo her bed and lightly shook her. " Joie, JOIE" she jumped up with tears coming down her face.

"Hey, you Ight I heard you shoutin and shit."  She sniffed " Yea, I'm okay Kai I didn't mean to wake you."

"You coo shawt, are you sure you okay."

"yea, I'm sure, I'm  okay" she whispered wiping her cheeks. "Ight" I responded and then went to walk out.

"K-Kai actually can y-you like st- stay." She said so softly I almost didn't hear her.

"You want me to stay love" I said as I looked into her eyes. "Yes, please" she said lowly looking away from me.

"Ight I'll stay."

I got in the bed as she scooted over. I lay  down away from her because I didn't want to make her uncomfortable.

I watched as she got up and got a over out of her closet. " You can sleep with this" she handed me the blanket.

"Thanks ma" I covered up and closed my eyes. As I'm laying there I felt her put her back against mine. "I hope this is okay Kai" she said.

"You straight" I said as I turned to her and wrapped my arms around her waist.

I just layed there in her warmth as I dose off. The last thing I heard was.......

"Thank you Kai, Goodnight"

It's been a while Ik, school just been eating me alive. I'll try to update more and get better at my writing.
