"I won't let you hurt a single person in this place! For as long as I live, you dare even scratch anyone here, I'll rip each and every part of you apart myself!!"
Those words of Dezmin, stuck clearly in my head. It felt as if I was important. Like I was worth being protected. I don't know why because I'm not worth anything. I really am not. But the way he said it, it was like I was good enough.
My eyes brought me back to reality, a few hours later in Dezmin's apartment, when I saw Hunter all bound up in ropes while snarling at Liam who looked like he wanted to torture Hunter in the worst possible ways. I sighed as Dezmin made his way towards me and sat down on the couch beside me.
"How are your sisters doing?" he asked.
"Only one of them is my sister. The other one is her friend." I told him. "But they're doing okay. Pretty shaken up, but Leah managed to calm them down. They're sleeping in your guest room. I hope you don't mind."
He shook his head. "Its my fault you got dragged into this in the first place." he said. "If it wasn't for me..."
"What's done, is done." I interrupted him. "No matter how much you'd wanna change it, I don't think you can do much."
Dezmin lowered his head. "Even so, that's all the more reason to apologize." he said.
I shook my head. "Not at all. I don't regret my time spent with you."
I swore I saw a hint of a smile creeping up in the corners of his mouth, but it may have just been my imagination. He nodded and looked over to Liam and Hunter who were sneering at each other. Dezmin sighed. Looking at the scene in front of me, made a question pop up in my mind.
"Hey, now that we've got Hunter trapped, where's he gonna stay?" I asked.
"He's right." Dezmin said to Liam. "Do you know a good place?"
Liam shook his head in response. "I'll being him back to my house."
Both me and Dezmin looked at him. "Uh, I don't really think that's a good idea." I stated.
"Why not?" he snapped.
"Well, for one thing," Dezmin started, folding his hands across his wide chest. "You two could rip each others throats out if you let alone together for even just five minutes."
"Well, I'm not letting him stay here with you, or with that guy over there!" he argued.
"Hey!" I protested. "That guy has a name, you know?"
"Oh, shut up, Rou." Liam snapped. But I smiled that he referred to me by my name.
"Anyway, Leah is here almost 24/7, so I can't leave this wolf with you, Dezmin!" Liam yelled. "And this guy-" I glared at him. "-Rou, has a normal family so he's out of the question." I could see the both of them tense when Liam said, 'normal family', but both of them chose to ignore it.
Dezmin sighed. "Alright. Fine." he gave in and Liam's face erupted into a huge, triumphant smile.
He went over and hugged Dezmin, making him cringe to his touch. "Thanks. This is the first time I've won an argument against you."
"It proves how serious you are. " Dezmin patted Liam back as they let go. "Just, be careful, yeah?"
Liam nodded. "Don't worry. I think I'm actually gonna have fun. I've always wanted to use my newly decorated room for something useful." He then started manically laughing when I gave him a look. Liam hauled him up on his shoulder, making Hunter scowl and glare at us.
When the two of them had left, I looked towards Dezmin and asked, "What did he mean by using his newly decorated room?"
He gave a nervous laugh. "Liam likes to think of his room as his personal torcher chamber."
