"You said you're not here to make friends but I'm a fan already, you're cut out to be a hero, for sure"

Yeah, Denki had said that. He said that to the guy that he had bumped into in their first day in the dorms. He had said that to the guy that had given him that god awful unpleasant face that he had when he had bumped into him. Back then he seemed so...depressed. But now, Denki had realized, that he was just somewhat socially awkward.

Hitoshi Shinsou.

That's what his name was, meaning some sort of manipulate or people user. He understood why others didn't want to be around him, but he would never avoid him. He could imagine how he would get treated by others, almost to the point where they wouldn't even talk to him because of what his quirk was.

Denki found it funny though how easy it felt to talk to him. How easy it was to even converse with him. He didn't talk to him despite his quirk, he talked to him knowing full well that he could brainwash him, and Denki could trust him.

Yeah, maybe they had just met, and maybe trusting him that much had maybe been a little suspicious, but he did trust him.

"Hey," Denki said, moving to grab onto Hitoshi before he could go back, but he had stopped himself, "I know you just experienced a lot with the whole Midoriya thing, and I know you said that you didn't want to make friends because Aizawa Sensei is your mentor or something but I really think you're amazing, and like...if you ever need someone, I'm here"

And he was. He would be, no matter what the indigo haired male had needed.

______

It had been quite a while since then, Hitoshi had actually gotten around to the whole friend thing, and although it was just him and Denki for now, it was better than nothing. Of course, Denki had kept the whole thing about them being friends away from everyone. He didn't want the friendship to be ruined with how fragile it already was. Hitoshi felt like someone Denki could go to when he had any other emotion that wasn't happiness. Hitoshi would listen to him when he needed to rant, let him hang out in his room when he had mental exhaustion, and even gave him a small hug every now and then when he needed it.

There was still one thing that Denki had not told him, it was the whole thing abut his parents, he was so afraid to tell him that. The way his parents had treated him sucked, and Eijiro already figured something out no one else could find out anything else.

Well, that was all about to change when Hitoshi had come over to Denki's dorm at one point, thankful that no one had questioned him when he had, assuming he was going to Izuku's dorm instead of Denki's. He was about to open the door when he had heard a voice.

"You said something dumb again

She's mad, at least that's what they say

Mum and daddy aren't in love

That's fine, I'll settle for two birthdays"

That voice, he knew that voice was Denki's. It sounded soft, so fully of emotion, and yet so shaky. It almost sounded like he was crying.

"Devil town is colder in the summertime

I'll lose my mind at least another thousand times

Hold my hand tight, we'll make it another night

I still get a little scared of something new

But I feel a little safer when I'm with you

Falling doesn't feel so bad when I know you've fallen this way too"

This wasn't something he had heard of. The song might have as well been an original. But the lyrics sounded more personal, like what he was singing about was actually real. Like it had been happening at that exact moment, and all Hitoshi could do was let himself listen, even though he knew that this was bad.

"I forgot my name again

I think that's something worth remembering

Spiders in your favourite shoes

Just leave them because they're more scared of you-"

His voice had cracked, along with a noise that sounded like a sob. This had made Hitoshi heartbroken, why was he crying? Who had made him cry like this?

Hitoshi didn't need to second doubt, he just opened the door, moved over to the crying blond, and engulfed him in a hug.
