(I'm sorry if anyone is reading this I am really bored and would like to practice writing also tw for suicide and stuff)

as I laid on Dwayne's bed, eyes closed wondering how to retell the dream i had the previous night quiet grunts and heavy breathing could be heard near the door I opened my eyes to find Dwayne doing pull up, I didn't say anything just watched, admiring him as he got down walking over to his calendar writing the numbers 473 then crossing it out
He turned to the bed where I laid and smiled

he hadn't spoken in 9 months, during that time he only communicated with nods, shrugs, and a notepad.
I wasn't good with word myself and seemed to be very quiet person so Dwayne not speaking was completely fine with me, I missed his voice of course but I still enjoyed the conversation we would have on pieces of paper, I still spoke just less often now that my only friend had taken a vow silence.
I gave a soft smile and sat up giving him space to lay down, he didn't he sat right next to me leaning against the wall grabbing the book he had started reading a few days prior

I would be staying with Dwayne for a few days after an argument with my mom, it was nothing new I practically lived at his house it seemed he enjoyed the company, he liked being around some who wasn't his family and that actually understands him, sure he had his problems and so do I but I always seemed to stick with him no matter what he did.
The silence was broken by Dwaynes mother Sheryl
"HELLO? ANYONE?"
foot steps approached Dwaynes door and with a quiet knock the door was opened
"Dwayne hi, uncle Frank's here"
Dwayne moved to the edge of the bed as the both of us just stared and Sheryl and frank
"He doesn't mind frank we talked"
I found that funny she in-fact had not talked to Dwayne she just said frank would be sleeping in his room for a few nights.
frank looked to the couch then back to Sheryl
"I know, I know but we can't have you sleeping alone the doctor said, I'm sorry I have to insist"
before she could even finish her sentence Dwayne had stood up and grabbed my hand beginning to walk out of the room then stopping right in front of Sheryl and frank for a moment and continuing to leave with my hand still in his.
"you'll get alongs fine and by the way that's ray she will be staying her for a few days as well, they are both really quiet. here's your cot"
I couldn't hear them anymore as Dwayne and I sat on the couch, Dwayne continued to read as you lost myself in thought.
frank had tried to kill himself I gathered this from the bandages on his wrists and the way Sheryl was speaking to him it reminded me of when Sheryl found out I had tried to kill myself even tho it wasn't that long ago I had tried to move on but I knew everyone felt like they were walking on eggshells around me, my mom on the other hand didn't seem to care, to her it was just another Tuesday it made me honestly quite upset, without realizing I had began to scratch my arm but Dwayne noticed almost immediately grabbing my hand again and holding it while continuing to read his book.
"Dwayne honey there is a bucket of chicken in the car, can you get it? and uh I'll make a salad?"
Dwayne just kept reading hoping Sheryl would forget to scared to let go of Ray's hand
"OLIVE"
Sheryl had called from in front of a close door
"YEAH"
"IS GRANDPA WITH YOU?"
"YEAH"
"WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING?"
"REHEARSING"
"OK WELL DINNER IN 10 MINUTES"
"OKAY"
the front door opened to reveal Richard with three large boxes in hand. I had zoned out beginning to read from the page of the book Dwayne had open, i was snapped back to reality not even a minute late to Sheryl speaking to Dwayne
"Dwayne please come on the chicken it's in the car, can will you set the table please? We'll just do paper plates tonight"
Slowly Dwayne got up letting go of my hand and putting his book down, waking outside to the car leaving me sitting there alone with Richard as he listens to the messages on the answering machine.
