A police station in Cinere (Jakarta) was shaken by the news coming out of the mouth of an 18-year-old girl. Alina. How not, she came to ask for help from police officers because of sexual harassment that her father had done to her. It was even more surprising since the person that she reported was a fairly respectable military officer in the area – and also had the power. Colonel Godam Samputi.

Many cases of recovered memories as a result of past trauma end up as vagues – or even mistaken. It is similar to Alina's case, she admitted that she was sexually abused by her father when she was a child. But as an adult she recalled the incident and interpreted it as a criminal offense. The question is: How accurate is her memory?

Not to slip into a false confenssion, the police began to make specific steps to krack down on the report. But unfortunately, when the process was underway, a jeep coming towards the police station, four soldiers fell later wrecking in the office, interrupted the interrogation.

"I'm Johan, First Police Inspector, chief in this police station. Is there any problem?"

"Colonel ordered us to pick her up," said one of them while staring at the girl.

The police station chief whom was usually called as Commandant Jo could only see and measure the girl's reaction.

"You don't have any right to take me," she said angrily.

"It is your father's order, Ms. Alina."

Alina looked at them furiously, her emotion was restrained. From the way she looked, it was clear that she refused the persuasive invitation from her father's men. A short time later a saloon car came. Silhouette of a well-built man came out of the car. Alina saw the shadow carefully and then she clearly recognized it.

Who came?

With her mouth half opened and shaking, she was mumbling something unclear, sounded like: "Oh, my God!" repeatedly.

Colonel Godam came in his service uniform, complete with the rank of three shining jasmines lined on his both shoulders. He walked in. Ignored all the police officers who were on the front terrace. As if he knew where to go, then he saw her daughter was hiding behind Commandant Jo's back.

"Alina, my dear, so here you are," he said, didn't even greet Commandant Jo. "I was worried this whole day. Let's solve this problem... at home." he said, didn't even look at his surrounding but the girl.
Alina stood still making silence for a moment.

"I'm sorry that I disappoint you... You may angry with me, if it can make you feel better, honey. I promise you, there's nothing going to happen after this incident... Now, come here," – he opened his arms – "I said sorry. Let's go home. Don't involve other people into this."
The girl didn't want to take a look at his father's face. She was afraid and confused. Seemed like she had too much to think about and it was unusual for a girl at her age.

Colonel just stared at her as if nothing in this world existed for him. Finding no answer from his daughter made him a little angry. With a dry and certain voice he told his men, "take her home," all his men instantly became obedient and then walked up to the girl.

Alina walked back off at the beginning. When the soldiers touched her, she became hysterical: "Let me go... Let me go... Don't force me... Don't force me... Let me go."With no mercy those four soldiers carried her arms firmly, dragged herself that was refusing. That shout made the atmosphere became even more tense. Commandant Jo who was usually calm must be disturbed, he never found himself so confused like that. Was it because of that Colonel?

They then jumped in the jeep and went off.

Colonel Godam didn't rush to leave the room, he seemed like waiting, like he wanted to say something. But he didn't. He turned his body as if he wanted to leave, but then he took a deep breath, "Did she say something?" he asked as he was not turning his back.

"Something about what, Sir?"

"Did she say anything about someone who tried to rape her? About demons that attacked her while she was sleeping? Spirit? Ghost? Or other nonsense things?"

"No, it is not it is," he said quitely, he then corrected his words, "I mean not those kind of things or anything nonsense."

"So, what is it about?" Colonel turned his body. Confused.

"I can't say anything," said Commandant, "there's so many things unclear."

At a glance Colonel was looking out of the room, the door was wide open, as if he needed to make sure that many people would hear this conversation.

"Did she say that I rapped her? Did she tell you that I abused her? Killed her mom?" he said it quickly, like he was saying something disgusting.

Commandant just stood still, gulped loudly. There was such a quite long pause that made his adrenaline higher. "Yes," he said, too late.
Colonel grimaced, like there was something that made his head aching, "it's been a while that I've been suspecting Alina to have something wrong with her imagination. You know, it's like delusional disorder, disorder on her fantacy... fooling fantacy... but I can't say that she's suffering from delusional disorder, because I don't have any medical evidence to say so... not yet... I don't know," he said haltingly. He seemed trying to calm himself and then he said, "I have to protect her, Jo... I need to become a shield for her. Let her say anything about me. So, what can I get from her? He said harshly. "Maybe it's not enough... You know what, this could be happened someday, not only to me but also to you or anyone else. Imagine if she suddenly hurt herself and slandered you as person behind all of her suffering which is she did by herself. I'm not scaring you right now. But if I had to, I would explain that to you and make you understand. If it's the only way."

Again, Colonel took a deep breath until his chest swelled, "you must understand, Jo. I know that you are good in understanding souls."

"I can't understand any of this, Sir." He said, "as I said before, there's still many things unclear."

"I think it's clear... I mean, you can't make memory of childhood as a fundamental in kracking down on legal proceeding, isn't it? I'm here now to explain to you about what really behind Alina's sanity is. However. As a father and a mother to her, I have to protect my own daughter," – He wiped his mouth – "even if the incident was coming from herself. From her imagination. I'm not doing this for me, it's for her... For her future."

Once again he looked at people around him. He made sure that there are still other people who had heard all his words.

"I hope you don't proceed this incident as report."

"I don't. Except for you allow me to meet Alina once again."

"I'll be respectful if you can forget all of this,"he said it as he made annoucement. As if his statement was not only for Commandant Jo, but also for anybody who had heard this conversation. "Good afternoon," he said coldly, without hoping others would greet him back.

Commandant let Colonel walking out the room, not long after that, a car was being started then left the police station with dust in the air. Once the car of Colonel was out of sight, they who were at the police station back to the noise, wondering about what really happened. That incident was at least becoming gossip for those who had already known about the abuse. Their thoughts was floated by ambiguous sensation: between Alina's confenssion and Colonel's explaination. Each had a convincing argument without any clear evidence. It made people speculated about possibilities that might happen. Until at the end, the polemic became clearly explained by presence of a young policeman who was enchanted by Alina's attractive body. Yes.. it's him. Widka,
