I dressed myself in my signature orange suit and sprayed myself in my "Essence of Garfield'' cologne. Totally Garfilicious. I walked down stairs to already see Teya and Thursday sipping their morning garfaccinos. As our eyes met I noticed something was off. Teya's face had a worried expression. "Nathen, there's someone outside. He's requested to see you." Teya leads me outside to meet the mystery caller. Outside there stood a large figure, and a majestical one at that. Much like Garfield, this figure resembled another worldly deity.
"Who are you?' I said looking the figure up and down.
"Nathennnnn where the hell have you been, loca?! It's so good to finally see you!" The figure stepped closer and grabbed my hands, and in the morning sun, his fur almost...sparkled. Like thousands of tiny diamonds lay on the surface of his thick coat. My name is Scooby Doo, I've been searching for you for a long time."
I looked at him in awe. Why was there another god-like entity coming to visit me?
Before I could finish asking all my questions, I heard the creak of my apartment stairs. I completely forgot I left Garfield in my room! I could hear his fuzzy feet making their way down the stairs until I heard them abruptly stop. I turned to face him only to see a shocked expression appear on his face.
"Nathen is that- why are you talking to- SCOOBY DOO?!"
"Long time no see" scooby doo replied, a smirk stretching his lips
"What are you doing here?" Garfield angrily replied.
"Just like you, I've come to see nathen." Scooby doo looked triumphant as Garfield hissed under his breath. I stood still in astonishment.
"What?!" I replied. Scooby looked down on me, his large eyes penetrating mine for a split second.
"I entered this realm on a whim, I felt something. Something more powerful than my free will. It pulled me forth until I came to the doorstep of this.... Unique restaurant." he reached down and clutched my hand, pulling me swiftly against his chest. My heart shuddered as he lowered his face towards mine.
"Now I understand that it was you Nathen that brought me here."
hechchchhsgsssssss
Gafield's hiss grew louder as Scooby stared into my chocolate, brown orbs.
"Let go of him, dog!" Garfield's tone was harsh and biting. Scooby smirked again, letting his arms drop from my waist, "nice to see you haven't changed feline." He drew the last word out and judging by the tension in Garfield's body I guessed it had hit a nerve.
So fast I hardly had time to react, Garfield grabbed me by the arms and dragged me back into the restaurant. I spluttered in protest for I was unable to wrench myself from Garfield's firm grip.
He pulled me into the kitchen and closed the door with a slam. He pinned me up against the kitchen counter, his hot cheesy breath fanning across my face. I stifled a gasp.
"W-what the heck is wrong with you!" I demanded a blush creeping up my cheeks. He paused for a second. "Stay away from him... he's... not a good creature."
"What??? What do you mean...he seemed so...kind." My heart fluttered as I recalled the events from a few moments ago.
"We...know each other," Garfield's voice strained as he uttered the words, "you should stay away from him."
"No." I objected firmly. He had no right to tell me who I was allowed to socialise with! I pushed Garfield aside and made a run for the door. Again he looped his arm around me and pulled me back towards him. Now his voice was angry.
"You better stay away if you know what's good for you." heat coursed through my veins as I processed his words, was he threatening me??
"URGH GET OFF ME" I thrust him away and made a break for the door again. Only this time Garfield let me go. I turned back to look at him for a second and I almost stopped myself when I saw the look of utter despair on his face. Yet, my resolve hardened and I walked briskly away from him.

Once again it was time to close up the restaurant as the sun sank below the horizon, I stared longingly out the glass windows of Garfield Eats.
"There you are!" I turned to see scooby doo standing behind me.
"Oh..hi there..."
"Ruh roh! You seem down...would you like to join me on a walk?"
"I would love that~" Of course I had to accept. Being stuck in this Garfield themed restaurant only reminded me of the fight we had earlier this morning. I turned to see scooby holding my coat for me. He was such a gentleman. He even held the door open for me! As we walked down the quiet streets, I looked back at the restaurant and saw Garfield looking down at me with the same look of despair. But i couldn't worry about that now, all i could think about was the gorgeous dog in front of me. Even the thought of him made me blush. "I-it's twilight." I said shyly, looking up at him.
We continued the walk in silence. I felt with every step, Scooby would inch closer and closer towards me until soon enough our hands touched and a shiver ran up my spine. Scooby took my hand and led me to a beautiful park illuminated by the moonlight. We took a seat on a bench and I could tell something was bothering him.
"Is everything ok scoob? Ever since you and Garfield fought you seem...off..."
"Well I do have to admit, I was shocked to see him here today...Nathen...what is your relationship with that cat?" scooby said his tone indicating he was being totally serious.
"We actually only met last night and i have to admit i was completely enamoured with him-" before i could finish my sentence scooby cut me off.
"Nathen there is something you don't know about him...Garfield is....a racist."
I sat there for a few seconds before speaking again. Garfield?? A racist??? I couldn't believe my ears."Nathen are you okay?"
"A racist??? Scooby you have to be joking."
"Oh no nathen i'm being completely serious."
"Scooby- I- i don't know what to think anymore. Garfield was my idol. He was my reason for living. Without him I was a crazy man in an orange suit."
"I have a proposition for you...so hear me out. You need to get rid of garfield-"
"Scooby you know i can't do that-"
"Nathen listen, please, you still need to pay rent for the restaurant this month, correct? Well I suggest you remodel the restaurant, nothing drastic of course. You need a new style...a new name...You don't want to be branded after a racist do you Nathen?
"This is crazy...how could I do this after so many years."
"Ruh roh! Nathen don't tell me you're a racist too?"
"Scooby Im not a racist i just-"
"How do you feel about ~Scooby Doo Eats~ an entergauging restaurant experience. What do you say, Nathen? Please do this with me."
"Scoob i-" before I could think, he pulled me into a tight hug.
"Thank you Nathen, thank you."
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad? Garfield is a racist after all...maybe scoob and I can create a modest life together?
It was finally time to go back to the restaurant though for once in my life, I had loathed going back. I couldn't bear to see his face anymore. Something malicious may very well have been lurking behind his smirk. But it was ok. Scooby was here with me. As we approached the diner, I couldn't help but longingly look up towards my apartment window. I for some reason hoped to see him again. For him to tell me that scooby was wrong. But he wasn't there. I think scoob could sense my discomfort. He grasped my hand as we entered the grand doors of my restaurant to see Garfield and Teya sitting at a table positioned in the corner.
"Nathen!! Where have you been? What did that dog do to you?!" Said Garfield leaping from his chair knocking it to the floor.
"Garfield. Stop." I couldn't bear to look him in the eyes. "I know who you are now. I need you to....leave."
