The beginning of the end of the world

Chapter one

Lying in bed sound asleep. No noise in the night what so ever. Dreaming about all the good things that have and haven't happened. And then all of a sudden I wake with a start. I quickly get out of bed and run to the light switch. I stand out side my door waiting for the other lights in the house to turn on. Nothing. There it was again. My parent's room light now gets turned on, then my brothers and then my sisters. Everyone starts heading toward the lounge room. The banging and the rumbling started up again. This time it was so strong it knocked me off me feet. My mum came over to me and we then walked over to where everyone else was sitting. I could tell by the looks on our faces that we were all thinking the same thing. whatever was going on out there, it was just the beginning.

"Try to get some sleep Aria. It will be a long night for all of us." My mothers words were the most calming in this dark hour. I lay there trying to get some sleep but my mind won't let me. I keep thinking about what is going on out there. I was almost asleep when my seven year old sister Maria screamed. "Maria!" my mum screamed as she ran to my sister. "What happened?" "Something sharp just poked into my back." By the look in my sisters eyes and the terrified way she spoke, I knew she was frightened. My mum told Maria to go and sit next to me. Once Maria was off the couch mum lifted the pillows up to find a giant green spike coming out of the ground and up into the couch. My father then came into the room with five hot chocolates. three of them had marshmallows in them. we say in silence while we slowly taking small sips from our cups. After I ate all my marshmallows. I put my half empty cup on the coffee table and instantly fell asleep. I was sound asleep when I woke to someone shaking me. I rolled over and saw my cousin sitting on the end of my bed shaking my shoulder. Sky ( my cousin) has blue eyes and brown hair with purple tips. she has purple flower earrings, two bracelets on her right hand and a neckless with her name on it. Sky and my other cousin Mike are seven years apart. Mike is ten (my age) and Sky is seventeen. Mile and Rick are really close even though Sky and Rick are the same age and me and Mike are the same age. We all get along really well. Sky and I walked down stairs to find Rick playing with Mike and sitting on the couch watching TV was Jake Sky's boyfriend. I ran up to Jake and gave Him a big bear hug. "Hey kiddo. What's up?" Asked Jake in the middle of tickling me." "Not much other then being scared to death from last night." I said in a soft but happy voice. "Haha you don't look dead to me." jake said with a laugh. after that we all burst out laughing till we started to cry. " So what brought you lot to New York?" I asked Sky. "Same reason as to why there is a giant green spike coming out of the other couch." I stood there frozen in terror as I realise Sky wasn't joking. Sky went and sat next to Jake. Sky grabbed my had and I sat next to her. she seems to know when I am really scared. "It will be ok. We are all going to stay here until we know what's going on.

After we sat there for a while, Rick and Mike came racing into the lounge room. Rick went strait to the kitchen but Mile came running at us like a rhino. He jumped over the back of the couch and landed flat on Jake. Rick and Mike were laughing there heads of while Sky and I tried so hard not to laugh. By this time Mike was already standing next to Rick who was in the kitchen. Jake started to get up and Mike and Rick ran outside and Jake followed not far behind. The doors suddenly burst open and Jake came in pulling Rick and Mike by one leg each. Sky must love it when this happens because she stood up and went over to him. He seemed to have calmed down now. Sometimes I look at Jake and think he has a secret he hasn't told anyone. But then again it is just my imagination. Or is it?
