"Rosie, come on sweetie. Your sister is already packed." I turned to mom and saw she had my suitcase open on my bed. I turned back to the window and remained quiet. My mother walked over to me and looked to see what had caught my attention.

"Oh baby, I'm so sorry. I know you want to stay here and be with your friends, but me and your father are trying to do what's best for you and your sister," she hugged me tightly, " it may be hard right now, but you'll understand in a few years. I promise." She turned and started packing my leopard printed suitcase.

"Why aren't you and dad coming with us?" I whispered as picked up my clothes below the window and walked over to her. She looked up suddenly then went back to packing my bag. After a few minutes, she finally replied.

"Me and your father have business to handle before we join you and Maria. You'll be safe with your grandparents in Gulfport." She looked away as she zipped up my suitcase. She pulled my suitcase off the bed, and was headed to the door when she paused. " Rosie, don't be angry with us. I know you're not happy with what's going on, but please don't take it out on your sister." She turned and walked out the door with my suitcase in hand. After she walked out, I went back to the window. I saw Maria was packing her stuff in the car when dad pulled up into the driveway.

"I guess it's time to go," I took one last look at my room and closed the door. By the time I made it downstairs, dad had walked in and proceeded to go up to the bedrooms.

"Hey sunshine, Maria and your mother are outside go ahead and get in the car; I'll be there soon," he smiles as he walked up the stairs. When I made it outside, my sister was talking with all our friends hanging across the street. Sophie ,one of my closest friends, saw me at the rear of the car and started to run towards me with her arms open.

"Rosie, why do you have to go," she whispered with tears in her eyes. "Who's gonna be my partner when we play zombies."

"We will be back soon Sophie. I promi-"

"MARIA ... ROSIE. Time for us to go," Dad was at the end of the driveway waving us over. I looked over and Marie gave her last farewell before she started towards the car. I hugged Sophie one last time.

"We will be back. I promise," I said with a smile ", but for now I know Baley will help keep the zombies from destroying the place." She smiled slightly and looked at Bailey who was waving farewell to my sister.

" You're right. She was one of the 'last survivors' before you, and I'm sure she'll be happy to be one again," she said as she turned back to face me.

"Who knows? I might be able to visit you during the holidays," I said. She smiled even bigger and hugged me. I turned and I ran to the car waving goodbye as I crawled into the back seat. I truly didn't know if I would ever see my best friend again, but I'd never want to break her heart by telling her that. I never thought I'd have to move again. I was going to miss playing paintball zombie with the rest of the kids. Some movement in the front seat of the car caught my attention.

"Blaine, we cant head that way. They might be there waiting we will have to take one of the back roads." Mother held tight to Dads hands as we pulled up too the Intersection.

"Darling, I know you are worried, but there is no way that they know we'll betaking the main highway." I looked over to see Maria listening to her iPod.

"Are you kids hungry?" Mom was turned in her seat facing us.

"Yes!" Maria smiled looking up with a bright smile.

"Is Burger Palace okay? It's right by the interstate too." Mom asked as she fumbled in her purse. Marie looked at me and I shrugged.

"Yea, that is good," Maria mumbled. After we placed our order at the speaker, we pulled forward and paid. The line wasn't too terrible I suppose. Though the hot summer rays left us sweaty even with the AC on full blast in the vehicle.

This is going to be a horrible drive.  For more reason than I thought,
