"Hey, before this, where were we?"

"Hm?" You hummed in confusion as you turned your head back to look at Belphegor. The male's face was twisted in a frown. "I... You can change the surroundings, right? Where were we before... before this garden?"

"...Yours and Beel's room." You directed your gaze back to the front. Belphegor looked deep in thought.

"Really? I thought that was-"

"I think you're just getting your memories mixed up, Belphegor."

"Belphie."

"..." You averted your gaze with a blank expression. Belphegor pressed his lips together in hesitation before trying to meet your eyes and failing. "Look, about what...happened last time. I'm sorry."

"...What are you apologizing for?"

"...For what happened?"

"Alright then, Belphegor." You spoke vacantly. "What do you remember happening last time?"

"..." The demon paused, thinking about the matter deeply.

...

And then it hit him.

He didn't know what the hell happened in his previous dream. It was like... like his memories were when he was awake.

Usually, he'd remember everything the moment he entered the dream.

"I...don't know."

"...Then you don't have to apologize for something you don't even know." You impassively replied. Belphegor blinked twice, then his eyes caught sight of something peculiar.

"...What happened to your neck?" Belphegor couldn't help but question the sudden appearance of the bandages wrapped around your neck. You paused, ceasing to walk abruptly.

"...It's nothing."

"Then why's your voice kinda hoarse?"

"Belphegor, mind not looking into things a little too deeply? I'm just not feeling as great today." Without waiting for any response or reaction, you began to walk again.
