Robert POV

So a few things to know in this world, my wife collects ghosts apperantly, poltergeists are WAY worse than that movie, poltergeists are also WAY more forward than the movie because they love throwing the heaviest object in the room at you. Usually everything but the sink ironically. That and I also seem to gain skills at a superhuman pace, I got a paper cut the second day I was here and my toughness shot up to 22, from a -13. My healing shot up to 9. I'm currently sitting at toughness 38.

Another thing to know is that there's this thing called elderwood, that's picky about who messes with it, I have lost weight because I can work on it. I'm not at woodworking 18. This world is simultaneously like an rpg and my world at the same time. It's odd. I've started writing in this journal to entertain myself when I'm not tending to my elderwood sapling, trying to make small talk with the knights, and actually listening and dealing with the problems people have, I may not be the most popular with the nobles, but I'm slowly getting more loved by everyone else, Anya has been out for about 2 weeks so I'm left with the power so I might as well do something, since it's usually the poor that start a revolt that kills the royal family in my world, if they love their king, they usually love their queen, and are less likely to be used by a noble to gain power in a coo.

At least I hope so.

Since Anya left I've made improvements like reducing the taxes on the poor substantially and actually taxing the rich, instilled some sanitation guidelines for food storage, stopped that bloodletting and amputation for the common cold, my phone working (Albeit slowly) I'm the room I appeared in helped me bring some medicine from my world here, I've started some trade expansion by having merchants and some guards go to trade with other nations which will inevitably enrich culture, and I've stimulated the economy by increasing jobs through instituting small school areas where skilled tradesmen can teach several students in their trade,

I've even had a basic clinic setup in town with more clothing for the poorer, and some basic sanitation guidelines and bathrooms which get emptied when their full and made into compost or buried which will stimulate crops and help curb some disease spreading, and I instilled a public police force trained to use non-lethal methods to capture and detain criminals, alongside some punishment changes, apperantly the punishment for small thieving is to lose your eyes, tongue, and hands then left tied to a stake to be pissed on, now it's a few weeks in the dungeon until the construction for the police station, trade school, and the literacy school are done, alongside the bathroom addition to homes, I'm surprised Anya hasn't thought of it, our economy is surprisingly stable now, I'm not very good at math, but even I could tell the economy was on the brink of collapse.

The instatement of workplace safety has hurt workplace casualties quite a bit, plus better clothing and sanitation alongside proper burial for the dead limited disease spreading.

Clearly stated laws and an outside police force alongside less poor taxation reduced crime and murder.

The clinic, which is still under construction so that's sadly a couple tents, a bonfire and doctors walking around to treat patients, has been more effective in reducing the death count, and putting research into medicine beyond bloodletting and amputation helped that too.

The literacy school only has a few people for now, but after it's construction and the difference it'll make in their lives more should come.

The increase in economy, and the eventual cobbling some of the roads to reduce flooding, has increased the people's view of me pretty well as a king who's pushing for positive change for the people, one of the nobles even visited and said he's not happy about being taxed but respects me for taking action after seeing that there were problems and asked me what I did, so I shared with him the changes I instituted first which added to people's security and health, and how they worked, and he took a copy home to institute them, so I sent a spy to go with him and see what he does so I can confront him about it.

I even setup inspectors for each to help prevent corruption among them, and allow me to address issues only when necessary and they are currently teaching 3 apprentices, who are also the students in the literacy school.

The current commissioner of the police is a veteran who I researched into who actively weeded out corruption in his squad, so I offered him a new job that would be lower danger and would let him personally handle the entire police force pretty much his way and pick his successor, and had the older soldiers with distinguished records have options of lower stress jobs, like teaching new recruits, or school guards, or even teaching soldiers they handpick strategy and how to lead troops, and I added what's basically dog tags so we can id our dead troops, as well as family and service records to be kept from now on, and improving the militarys organization and adding fitness training and mock battles for them to gain some combat experience, alongside adding equipment maintenance to the curriculum because well maintained equipment is life saving equipment.

Now after all this change, and the 8 or 9 all nighters, I wonder how Anya will react to all this, and the fact I probably look like shit.
