ViegoxLeilla (OC) fluff
A story of how a king met a traveller,
Their love
At this point in time, Leilla would have been cursed for +60 years when she first met the very human Viego.
They met one another when Leilla had just been travelling close to his kingdom, she seemed to be a scholar with the books that had filled her bag and the small glasses stuck in her hair that had splotches of dirt on them signalling that she had been travelling for a while now.
Viego had been out on the market when he first saw her walking amongst the people. He didn't even know what about her made him notice her seeing that all she did was converse with the people behind the stalls. She would write all of it down in her little notebook sometimes tapping the end of her quill to her chin when she listened to the people. He would find himself seeking her out intrigued by the new presence in the kingdom.
She wasn't anything he was used to and then he finally was able to talk with her as they both sat in a bar in the afternoon. She had seated herself by the same table with him reading a new book with a glass of tea by her. He would stare at her making her look up at him with a curious look on her face. Her lips would purse as he quickly looked away she let out the softest chuckle at the little gesture.
"I would say draw a portrait it would last longer" she had joked making a red shade spread over his cheeks "Making a portrait would take too long why not spend that time looking at you instead?" he smoothly questioned making Leilla shut her mouth not having expected the brunette to respond with such wit to her.
"Smooth" she mumbled her fingers going over the page of the book she would've flipped it but if she were honest she hadn't even been reading the page at all the stranger in front of her had been taking up her attention for a while now she knew he had been staring at her and honestly she was flattered that a handsome man like himself would even bat an eyelash her way, it made her distracted, not able to read the words that were written on the pages.
"Would you allow me to take you on an outing?" he questioned his fingers fumbling with the mug of water he had ordered. She looked at him and slowly nodded "what kind of outing?" she questioned a smile playing on her face "that my lady will be a surprise" her eyes widened slightly she did not enjoy surprises but why did she feel so excited about this one?
After years of not feeling many emotions, why did she feel a slight flutter when this man spoke with her so smoothly even though he seemed so flustered just before?
"then when should I be prepared for this surprise?" Leilla questioned closing the book on the table as she leaned slightly forwards a smirk playing on her face her eyebrow raised waiting for his response "tomorrow night here just before the sun goes down" he told her. "I'll be waiting for you then sir" she stood up and left just like that leaving the still hot tea on the table and a few golden coins where her book moments ago was placed.
Viego had watched as the woman that intrigued him left the tavern he watched her as she waved the owner goodbye with her beautiful smile. She was someone he was falling for.
The next months they went on outings with just the two of them Viego planning all kinds of trips from just a small dinner by the star decorated sky or lunch by the lake, he even took the girl horse riding with him through his kingdom. Everyone could see the two falling for the other they even expected the girl to become his wife, by the way, things were going. And after more months went down the two got into a more serious relationship Leilla would come over to his palace they would spend some time together there sleep in the same room and wake up to one another presence.
They were in love and the two would do anything for the other but then Leilla came to a realization. She was cursed not able to age stuck in the moment of this age while Viego was a human he would grow old wonder why she didn't he would die while she would live on. And deep down she knew that if she loved him she should've stayed but she was scared, scared of the fact she finally loved someone and that they would eventually die. She is scared of the fact she will need to face the backlash of his people. So in her mind at the time was the only option to leave without a word. Leave this life behind go far away to never come here again forget about it and find her life in the knowledge she needed to learn.
And so she did she left the next morning without waking him up she left without leaving anything behind only taking the jewel he gave her just a few months ago. It was the only piece she had to remember him by.
And she kept it in condition for hundreds of years to come. Even herself forgot she had the piece of jewellery on her for all these years as it had become a custom for her to wear. And when she gets asked about it she would always answer with the same thing "It's just something I liked back in the day, guess I just grew attached to it".
She knew it was something more but her mind had pushed down the memories locked them behind doors forcing them down unable for her to access, them until the time was right.
And maybe it was time again after 800+ years when she entered the one place no one has returned from a place where black mist lays and a rumoured man dubbed under the name of the 'ruined king' lived locked on the island. Maybe it was time for the two to meet again, but will they even recognize each other will the king even recognize his first love and will Leilla even recognize someone who was supposed to be dead 800 years ago?
