Chapter one: Normal and boring
I had an ordinary life.key word is 'had'.
"Sarah!" My brother yelled from downstairs. "I'm coming!" I yelled back throwing my hair into a ponytail and slipping on my chucks. It's the last first day of high school. 'Yay' I think to myself sarcastically. My name is Sarah Michaelson, high school student, ordinary life, ordinary day and so forth. Yeah very exciting in a very sarcastic way. What a drag? "Sarah come on! Or your walking" that's my brother Jonathan, pain in the ass but got to love him. Especially when he's all you've got. "I'm right behind you" I sighed as I rolled my eyes. "Oh well let's go before your late" he said embarrassedly but tried to cover it up. John is 23 and I'm only 17. He has been taking care of me since he was well 19,which was four years ago,when our mother died in a car accident
, though my brother and I survived and our father disappeared. I can't remember much.
We headed out to his car "Um.." I hesitated "don't worry about picking me up from school later I'll hitch a ride home with Kacy" I said as I fastened my seat belt "oh Kacy is dropping you off?" He said with his annoying 'flirtatious' smirk "ew" I said as my stomach churned at the fact my older brother was always hitting on my best friend Kacy or always smirks when I speak her name. I rolled my eyes at the thought. "Oh hey I won't be home till late tonight I have to work so make sure to lock up, okay?" John spoke softly. "Okay" it pains me to see John worry about me all the time so I always hide whenever I'm hurt. I don't want to burden him then he already is. "Okay get out munchkin" John joked. "Hey stop calling me that!" I exclaimed but couldn't help but smile. "Alright be safe, don't do drugs, don't even think about 'you know what' so I don't have to say use protection, but if you do-" "ew!" I interrupted "okay..okay I get it! Love you too bye!" I hugged him and ran inside the school building .
"Sarah!" My name echoes down the hall. "Kacy!" We run towards each other and hugged tightly jumping up and down like the idiots we are. "So what's new with you?" Kacy asked "Oh same old, ordinary life. Oh but John learned how to finally cook this summer" I smiled "h-he did?" she blushed. I shake my head "So what's new with you stranger" I say as I playfully nudge her arm. "Oh nothing much- Oh hey!" She interrupted herself as if she forgot something at least I know we are similar for our short attention spans. "Hey" I replied jokingly, to her 'I just thought about something' outburst.
She rolled her eyes "did you hear we're getting three new students? I heard they were from New York" my eyebrows hunched in confusion as I wondered "why would someone move from New York to this small town? I mean come on out of all places?" I questioned "I don't know" Kacy shrugged "but I heard that two of them are guys and they are totally ho-" my thoughts cut her off due to the most beautiful creature that just walked out of the admission office . "-Hot" I finished her sentence. She waved her hand in front of me, but I was to busy drooling "Sarah what are you looking at?" She said as she followed my gaze at the beautiful creature and her jaw dropped. He turned to us and we both looked away cheeks burning with embarrassment. He smirks and walks away. My heart is pounding like a race horse running. I don't know why, I'm not usually the type of person to get excited.
The bell rings for our first class period. Yay , English is so fun, I thought to myself sarcastically. Kacy was already sitting down at our usual seats, which is some what the middle to the last seat in the back corner of the class room. I like to sit here to stare out the window, and also hide behind people so I can fall asleep during lecture time. "Hm" I sigh.
"Okay class, we have two new students in this class this year" I was to busy in thought to pay attention. Then I snapped back to reality when I heard 'new students'. "This is Leon and Jase Salavin " our teacher Mrs. Falls said. I think he catches me starring and looks at me but I quickly look away "okay Jase and Leon have a seat behind miss Michaelson and miss Johnson, ladies please raise your hand so the gentlemen have an idea where their seats are" Mrs. Falls says smiling. Kacy raises her hand excitedly and as for me, I lazily raise mine. Leon is tall, pale dirty blond hair that's actually pretty long. Jase ,his brother I take, though is tall, pale, beautiful sea green eyes and jet black straight medium length to short hair. He's beautiful. Oh my goodness what am I thinking. Jase sits right behind me as Leon sits behind Kacy. Kacy looks at me , biting her lip to keep from giggling. I ,of course, roll my eyes. All the girls were staring at us with evil looks. I could care less about the evil glares I just want to sleep now. I feel slightly uncomfortable like someone is watching me. My eye just twitches and eventually I just nod off. One of those normal yet boring days.
