Cadiann's Pov:

We just got to The Waltons house. There's a boy outside hitting a punching bag, he looks very similar to Jaden.
“Wanna! come over here, we want you to meet someone.” Jaden yells out the window.
The boy hitting the punching bag comes over to us, sweat covering his face.
He looks very similar to Jaden, except for his hair being shorter and maybe Jaden being a little bit taller than him.
“Wanna! This is Cadiann. Cadiann, this is my brother, Javon. But, we call him Wanna.” Daelo  introduces me to the boy I now know is Wanna.
“She bought me ice cream, and is going to stay for dinner,” He continued.
I love how enthusiastic he is.
“Hey Cadiann, it’s nice to meet you. Jayla's inside making sure all the food is ready.”
Who's Jayla?
I walked into the Waltons house, it's nice and clean but not overbearing. It feels homey.
“Cadiann, This is Jayla. Jayla, this is Cadiann. She was helping Daelo find us.”
I turned around and saw the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Her hair is dark brown, almost black. Her facial structure is defined by a smile on her face, almost flirty but not threatening.
“Hi, my name is Jayla. It's nice to meet you.”
“Ha-Ha-Ha- Hi,” I stutter out.
Stupid!
Stupid!
Stupid!
Jayla lets out a tiny laugh at my stuttering as she bites her lip.
her lips look like they would be so good to kiss.
Wait,
No.
No.
No.
I cannot like her.
I can't be a faget.
I can't.
I can't.
I’m not a sinner.
I'm not a sinner.
I am not a sinner!
“Dinner's ready if you guys want to eat,” Jayla tells everyone.
Daelo looks up at me.
“Are you okay? Did I do something wrong?” Daelo asked me.
“I'm fine, Dae.”
I'm not fine.
Everyone walks to the dining room. Jayla stayed behind, waiting for me.
“I'm just going to call my mom first.”
Jayla gives me a slight nod before she leaves.
I call my mom, and it takes three rings before she answers.
“where are you!” She yells at me through the phone.
“I'm on the other side of town.”
“Why are you on the other side of town?” She questions me.
I debate whether I should tell her why.
“Because I wanted ice cream,” I whisper.
“Oh! So you wanted to disobey me, right?” She continues.
“I want you home right this instant. I didn't expect to have to punish you two times today.” She tells me.
“I can't.”
“Why not?” She growls at me.
“ Because while I was here I saw a little boy that was lost, I helped him get back to his family and they offered me to come have dinner with them, considering I have at 8 and almost 2 hours. I’m at their place right now,” I tried to explain to my mom.
“Are you going to eat their food?” she asked, evilly.
“Ye-ye-yes.”  I stutter out.
“Aw, you wanted to be punished 4 times today. yay for me.”  she laughs evilly  at the end.
“Remember honey. The more you eat, the more you have to throw up,”  she tells me, trying to sound sweet as she hangs up.

veryone is gathered around the table, Mrs Watson is trying to ask everybody how their day was, and Jaden and Javon are arguing over who gets the last piece of garlic bread. Jayla ends up taking it in the end. Meanwhile, I just poke at my pesto pasta and bread.  I served myself a small portion, but part of me is too afraid to eat it because I will want more.
“Do you not like it? I can make you something else.” Jayla asked me.
oh no.
I don't want her to think her food is bad
“Do you have any food allergies or something?” Mrs. Walton asked me.
I don't want to concern her.
“No, mrs. Walton. The food is fine, I just didn't want to waste it.” I tried to explain to her.
You wouldn't be wasting food if you ate it. And please, call me Jessica.”
“Yeah, plus we never end up finishing all the food anyway.” Jayla adds.
But I don't want to waste their food.
especially when I know it's good food.
I look down at my plate, picking up a bite of pasta and go back to looking into space.
“Cadiann,How was your day?”
“Cadiann,Can you hear me?”
“Cadiann, are you still there?”
“Cadiann!!!”
“Cadi.”
I turn around as I hear a soft voice say part of my name.
Cadi?
I've never had someone call me that before.
I feel a hand go into mine as I look up, Jayla pulls my hand into her lap as she rubs tiny circles on my knuckles.
“Did I do something wrong?”  I say to Jayla, probably looking like a lost puppy.
“No honey,” she plants a light kiss on my knuckles.
Honey?
I like her calling me honey.
“I was just asking how your day was.”
“ How my day was?  I restate the question back to Jayla.
I’ve never really had someone ask me how my day was.
“Yeah, did you have a good day? Did you have a bad day?” Jayla asked me, Massage my hand, trying to Conference.
“My day was good. How was yours, Jay?”
Jay?
“My day was good. I met someone new.” She gives me a small wink, still looking at me.
I could look into her eyes all day.
“okay you too, Stop eye fucking at the dinner table,” Jaden yells from across the room.
My blood runs cold as my face falls.
Jayla looks at me, her face truning angre and sad at mine.
“Why did you have to do that, Jaden? You made her uncomfortable.”
Jayla grabs my hand as she pulls me up the stairs to her room.
