Lucas has always been excused by everyone cause they say he's a troubled kid, it's true me and lucas were both "troubled kids" , lucas picked fights and hurt other kids and i had a habit of not doing my school work, and falling asleep during class but, there was was reasons we did what we did , lucas was being bullied by the kids he fought and none of the teachers (except for mr. daniels) believed him or even cared , i was too scared of messing up whenever my work got too hard and was too scared to ask for help plus i was working late nights at a restaurant to help pay the bills , but still i get most of the blame , we aren't just bad kids , were scared, anxious and just lost a parent not too long before school started , yet for most kids they didn't care about that all they cared about was our reputation and how bad it was. The sound of the bell shot through my ears , I was late. I walked to class quickly but once I got there and entered the room and then I heard mrs. Milo yell "KALI ALISON WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN" . i mentally cursed at myself , last time i had been warned if i was late one more time i would get detention after school for the rest of the week , for normal kids that would be fine but after school i had work from 5 pm to 5:30 am , the detentions wouldn't be over until 6:30 pm , "i was doing something please don't give me detentions, i'll be on time i promise" i begged the entire class stared at me , i was on the verge of crying but i held back my tears , remembering what dad always told me , these two saying where dad's way of telling me to be strong and that things will get better these were his sayings, "no matter what, be kind, be nice, but always be quick to fight'' and "there's always sunshine at the end of the tunnel" , "do you have memory loss or something, what could make you forget that you get in trouble if you're late , crying kali'' mera, a bully of mine mocked , me and mera were best friends in the past, but she's bullied me since after the accident. "Shut up Mera," I heard someone say from behind me. I turned around and saw my older brother , "mrs. Milo , she has a pass from mr. daniels you can't give her a detention" lucas said as he handed a piece of paper to mrs. milo. "Oh ok kali , you're excused, go with your brother" mrs. Milo said . I followed behind my brother , after a while I suddenly thought of something where me and Lucas were going. I looked up from the ground , we were on the other side of the building , I'd only heard this referred to as the bad side of the school, am i a bad kid? I panicked , but then i heard "calm down k, you aren't in trouble, we have to go talk to a counselor" lucas said pulling me into a hug , i hugged back then continued walking with lucas
