>Another VisitThe boy disappeared before your eyes. Charlotte hugged your side, tears tracking down her cheeks. You knelt down so she could give you a proper hug, she wrapped her arms around your neck and buried her face into your shoulder.
"I want to go home," She whispered. You believed this time she was right.
"Yes, Charlotte, I'm glad you're safe" you picked up the bag you carried all the way here, and you both left the mountain side. She was too scared to look over the edge of the mountain as you guys descended. You made sure to cover her eyes.
"I'm sorry, I should have listened to you the first time you asked to leave." You were so disappointed in yourself, for not being able to protect your sister, the one thing that meant the most to you in this world. Yeah you argued all the time, and you have different ideas of 'fun' but that doesn't mean you loved her any less.
You personally still had no idea how to explain to your parents why their daughter is now terrified of cliffs and high places. You don't think telling them "I allowed her to get too close to the edge and she fell" will go over pretty well.
She looked up to meet your eyes, she didn't say anything, probably out of fear or shock. She just blinked then rested her head back down. The sun had begun to set as you reached the city line of Liyue. You had not intended to take that long on the way home, but you were carrying two times the weight you had left with by not only carrying the essential materials you brought with you, but also your half asleep sister.
Mom and Dad were waiting for you both by the door, they opened it once you stepped into view of the porch. Your dad grabbed your sister from your arms and gently placed her on the couch in the living room. Removing her shoe's once he was sure she was comfortable.
"Sorry for being home so late, we ran into a little trouble on the way back" You whispered to your mother.
"It's alright, i'm just happy you're home safe" She looked over at Charlotte and smiled, just happy to see her two kids home safe and sound. You didn't have the heart to tell her that she almost lost one today. And you hoped Charlotte wouldn't either.
You crashed down on my bed, lying there staring at the ceiling, vividly remembering the boy who saved your sister's life. So many questions filled the empty space in your head, no answers to cure the curiosity.
Where did he come from?
How did he get there so fast?
What made him sense the issue?
You knew of those who possessed powers, powers held within visions. Visions which were granted to those who have special abilities. Strength that not everyone had. Depending on which element that person possesses, you can almost tell their passions, ambitions, struggles, and sometimes even a little of their past.
Did he wield a vision?
Which element would it be?
How did he save her?
How?
The questions filled your mind until you fell asleep, unaware of what time that was exactly. You had not even changed into your pyjamas. When you woke up, your bed smelled of ash and dirt from the mountains. You would have to change them before bed tonight. Even though when you woke up, it seemed to be an average day. You had no idea what you had waiting for you. Lurking just outside of view.
Throwing what you previously had on into the dirty laundry hamper, you grabbed a fresh pair of clothes from the closet, your wardrobe consisted of t-shirt which varied in colour, mostly black and white. And some pairs of jeans and sweats for casual wear.
Your parents had already left by the time you left your room. Which would mean your sister was either with her friends, or being watched by a trusted adult. They knew you left on your own quite a bit, so leaving her here with you would be a mistake, and not a pretty one if you had a repeat of yesterday.
The sunlight stung your eyes in an attempt to blind you once the door swung open. You used your hand to shield them as you stepped out, closing the door behind you. Then, you set off on another adventure.
You followed the same path as the day before, but took a few different turns and stops to see the wonderful scenery that surrounded more of the Liyue mountains. Still fearful, you kept a fair distance from the edges of each cliff once you stopped to admire.
Once you reached the top of one of the mountains, you decided it was safe enough to sit on the edge, watching your legs dangle over the side. You wouldn't fall, because you were firmly on the ground.
You watched the horizon as the sun decided it was time to rest, the sky becoming akin to pinkish purple swirls. Clouds became a grayish hue as the light seeped out. Everything seemed perfect, nothing could ruin the moment.
Though, you were so caught up in the view, you had not noticed the person quickly approaching you from behind. They tapped my shoulder and you felt a chill go down your spine.
