TW/CW: Brief mentions of Exile arc and explosions, Tommy has trauma(TM)
Tommy just misunderstands the phrase 'getting rid of' as 'blowing it up'. Yeah. That. Sorry.
Sum: We get onto the building part of the story, yay! Also new chracter.

Tommy was tired. Absolutely tired, and no, this wasn't that kind of 'oh I'm sick of this' tired. Tommy was purely tired. His eyelids felt like they were the heaviest thing in the whole world, his head pounding as he tried to move. Probably because he stayed up all night yesterday.
Anyhow, the boy still had to eventually start his day.
The blonde groaned and slowly shifted his body to a sitting position. After getting used to the little headache, Tommy stood up.
The door creaked open at the boy's push, revealing the small hallway that was filled with the light of early morning. Tommy yawned, rubbing his eyes. He couldn't help it.
He silently walked down the stairs, out of the cottage, and headed to the nearby river.
As Tommy strolled through the grass, the wind slightly moving his strands of golden hair, he felt somewhat... Better.
Maybe nature made everything feel more enjoyable than it actually was at this point.
Yeah, he settled for that answer.
Tommy reached the lane soon enough. He washed the sleep off of his face, and decided to stay and just watch the water.
It shimmered, small sounds of splashes as the boy's hand lightly slipped through.
Tommy almost zoned out, letting the wind swallow him.
When Tommy opened his eyes again, he shot backwards, meeting crimson eyes.
"Hello there!" The stranger said with a bright voice.
"AH! Who the hell are you? You scared the shit outta me!" Tommy yelled, pointing rapidly at the smiling brunette(Who was probably a demon hybrid).
"Well, I'm Devi, and you must be Tommy. Your wings got real big since I last saw you."
"You know me?" The boy asked, clearly confused.
"I knew you before." Devi answered, sitting down on the riverbank.
"I... Sorry, I don't think I remember you. My memory went wacky after... An incident."
A war is also an 'incident', right?
Devi just stared at Tommy's eyes for a moment, before laughing.
"No, it's fine. I wasn't really myself back then anyway."
"What does that even fuckin' mea-"
"Well, should we go now? Clementine would be waiting for you." The hybrid stood up, cutting Tommy's sentence.
"How do you know her?"
The blonde asked, confused.
"Pfft, I'm the mayor here! Of course I know Clementine."
"Really? You don't seem like a mayor-person... Kinda."
It was indeed true that the demon didn't look like an official. He was wearing a white dress shirt that was slightly ruffled, and his chocolate brown hair was a bit messy and unkept. Devi just looked like a normal person, but with devil horns and a big black spot on his right eye.
"Huh, that's new. Everyone always said I look too young to be a mayor." Devi muttered at Tommy's words.
"Nah, you look old." He smirked, and the Devil gasped in response.
"Hey, I'm not that old! I'm only 25!"
"Yeah sure..."
The two kept arguing playfully while walking back to Clementine's cottage.
Clementine smiled at the sight of Devi, and Shroud bounced up and down, gurgling happily.
After a quick breakfast including toast, jam and fruit juice, Tommy and Devi set out for the boy's new place.
Tommy thought the old house looked very silly.
Yes, very silly indeed.
It was clearly abandoned for a long time, shown by the rusted metal and broken wood walls. Everything look old, cracked and horrible. Tommy almost thought it was haunted.
"Yeah, no, you definitely can't live here," Devi grimaced. "It'll be better if we got rid of this fully..."
The boy raised his head up.
"Are... Are you gonna blow this up?"
"What?"
Tommy expected the obvious following, 'yes'.
It was going to happen eventually, right?
Tommy was going to put his things in the pit, and Dream was going to destroy everything he ever loved.
Like he always did.
But this time, it did turn out that way.
"Of course not, Tommy! Why would I?" The demon frowned, seemingly worried.
"He... The place I lived before always used TNT for things..."
"Ah... We don't use TNT here. It's really dangerous, and I can just use my magic."
"Magic? You can use magic? Oh dear Prime that is so cool! Can I see?" Tommy's eyes lit up, almost looking like it was sparkling.
"Mhm, sure!" Devi smiled and in an blink of a eye, a bright orb of light appeared out of nowhere in the devil's hand.
"That's so sick!" The boy exclaimed, awestruck.
"Aw, thank you. Now, please be quiet. I need to concentrate with this."
Tommy nodded in response.
Devi closed his eyes, and red aurora started to surround the old cottage.
With a swish of a hand, the house disappeared.
The blonde couldn't believe his eyes. How did he even do that?
"Phew, now that that's done, we need to start building! Are you ready, Tommy?"
Tommy grinned.
"Hell yeah!"
