The Fair

After making sure the door was properly locked, ruto put the key in his jeans pocket.

"Ruto"

The said male humed while texting on the phone.

"Is the fair far from here?"

Ruto put up his head, trying to remember. "Nope, it's just right infront of mashiro noona's restaurant"

Haru stared at the older with a questionable look. He let out a sigh and smacked the back of ruto's head. The said male let out a winced right after the smooth small hand hit him. "What was that for?!"

"Be specific, bro. Mashiro noona has like 5 restaurants around this town. Which restaurant are you talking about?"

That's reasonable ruto thought.

"Her chicken restaurant. You know the one that her twin work as the manager at. What's his name again.... oh right mahiro"

Haru nodded his head lightly before clung onto ruto's arm, pleading with his signature puppy eyes. "Can we pleaseeeeeeee walk there? It's cold using your bike" he pouted.

The older smiled, a sign of agreement. But he make sure that he have haru's medications just incase he gets an attack from his illness.

"Wahhhhhhhh"

The first thing that greeted his vision was the roller coaster. The big ride with lots of people on it went into a full-high speed going around the updside down ring.

"Ruto! Ruto! Ruto! Look at that!"

A merry-go-round with unicorns, pandas and other animals motive moving in a circle caught his attention. The colorful lights making the younger's smile bigger.

"Woahhh cotton candy!"

The colourful soft food made him abit hungry. The younger jumping excitedly seeing every rides, game booths, food stalls, and food trucks around the fair.

The smile never fades. The excitement shown by haru proves how much he missed going to a fair without nako telling him what to do and what not—mostly not.

Ruto kept his eyes on his twin who were skipping cutely while his eyes scanning the venue. The older smiled fondly, but keeping his gaze cold, being a whole different person when haru didn't face him.

That's how their twin connection works. Haru would be the sunshine whilst ruto is the sunshine protector. Haru would be skipping happily at the front whilst ruto would standing not so far behind him, keeping him safe in his vision. The younger knows very well that ruto is providing him the 'scary dog-privilege'. Their choice of clothing says alot.

Of course haru would tell him that he should smile more and socialize. But still, ruto is ruto 'haru matter the most' could be his life motto.

"Ruto look! A haunted house!"

"Ruto! Look at the toys!"

"Woah, bubbles!"

"Ruto! Can i have the cotton candy again?"

"Ruto! Hop on!"

"Wheeeeeeeee"

Hopping happily towards the older, haru jumped into ruto's embrace—a wide smile plastered on his face.

"This is the best day ever, ruto... thank you"

Ruto patted his twin's back softly and giggled quietly. "It's just 9 p.m. Do you want to go somewhere else?" Ruto asked.

Haru pulled out of the hug and thinking deeply. Not so long after, something caught his attention.

"Race you to the field!"

And just like that, watanabe haru sprinted to the minefield at the end of the town, not too far from where the fair was. Ruto was stunned but fast enough to catch the pace of his twin.

Laying down at the field, the twin stared at the hanging stars, shining the dark sky. Both stay in a comfortable silence. Just the slow calm wind and their breathing could be heard.

Haru then took ruto's right hand in his, and started to play with it. Ruto smiled at the gesture, letting the other play like a child. Haru then intertwined their hands together. Locking his eyes with his dear twin.

"If...."

Ruto turned his head towards haru.

"If things change, would you... change too?"
